also you didnt talk about the rotation different from odd and even side, how to swing at the ball in 2 different side, how to serve when sun is at your face, what serves to use when ahead of the game or when behind points, when to jump when bending your knees, how to toss the ball, how to tell if you are tossing the ball too high or low in your serves, how to get ready when somebody returns your serves, how to rotate torso so that you don't injury your lumbar (lower back), how to serve wide, T spot, and middle of the service box. Which grips are great for each different serves, how long you are suppose to hold the trophy stance, how to recover when serving strong balls, and which serves makes you run into the court and which serves you can stay back at the baseline. Those are the things some people want to know.

@@anthonygibson660 show a serve that you're doing. kick, flat, top spin, slice, and under hand serve. then talk about the steps when to bend the reason to bend the knees, why the ball toss is like that. when to know when the person needs to jump to hit the ball. what serves are needed for player ahead of matches, what serves to do for those that are behind matches. how to aim down the center, middle, and wide of the serving box. then zoom into the arms and wrist motion. how the swing has to finish across the body instead of down onto your leg/legs. You can go into maximum details and get lots of view. That can help more player to understand the mechanics and also improve their game/ goals. Knowledge is power my man.

OMG. I was impressed your brothers vid forehand identical to rogers and your serve is also identical to rogers. Props on not only studying the exact replica but being able to actually pull it off physically. Super impressive. I doing my best but am not as athletically gifted or mentally for that matter. Hi jppaul, We appreciate the kind words. To be honest, my technique was a product of hundreds of hours of trial and error, looking at videos, and isolation drills. I wish that I could give you that secret sauce, but unfortunately, there is hardly any information on such an advanced topic. But, we will try our best to share everything that we learned and continue to learn along the way!

Out of the top 10 players with highest career 1st serve percentages (according to atp.com), only 2 of them use the platform serve (Alberto Berasategui and Filippo Volandri). Obviously, many factors go into determining accuracy of a serve, but correlation seems to suggest the pinpoint is actually higher accuracy than the platform.

At 0:25, video advises that if serve is going wide a few inches than you change foot position a few inches to adjust serve placement. But I hear coaches say you are not supposed to vary the foot stance for serve placement.

Thanks so much for the support ,Mario! We don't use a teleprompter, but as of lately, we have been using a script for our videos in order to communicate more effectively. If you look at our earlier videos without scripts, you could see that we don't explain our ideas and instructions as well as we want to. Over the last several videos, there has been a drastic difference in how clear and concise we are in delivering our message. And when it comes to coaching in any field, the single most important thing to nail (IMHO) is communication. Although our public speaking skills are a work in progress, we feel like one day, we could switch back to script free without you guys being able to tell the difference :)

Hi, cool video! I’ve been on and off tennis for about 20 years. Trying to improve a bit on technique, and took to taping my games, which is helping quite a lot. I’ve always served with a pinpoint stance. But I just realized I step with my back foot way wrong, just like you showed some women in the WTA do, except a little more extreme. It looks weird on video, especially as it seems like my chest is already facing forward even before contact. Wondering what the best way to correct this is...? Trying to correct the pinpoint or switching to platform for more consistency? I’m 5’7 and don’t have that powerful of a serve btw..

Hi, Bruno. I'd recommend starting off in a platform stance and serve without launching. This will prevent over rotation from your hips and you focus on the optimal hitting arm and trunk rotation action - and afterward, you can experiment with adding in the pinpoint stance. 1. No, you could stand further back if you please. However, it will give you a higher margin of error the further back you stand. 2. In D1 Colleges, they have that rule set in place. This is because the fierce competitiveness and lack of live replay allows players to easily cheat the script.

Hi Silent_Quartz! Yes, racquet tension does make an effect on serve speed, just like with other shots. The looser the strings, the more bounce back there is - and therefore more power.

Great question, Yannis. Generally, your hips and torso should never point towards your target, as that would cause you to over rotate into the shot, leading to inconsistency. So when you hit your forehands/serves, it would be more accurate to face the ball.

I have yet to find a video that shows how to put the ball in play. Why? Is there no such thing as a 'pusher' serve? Of course there is! It's just not taught. Technique is taught with attention to details only a touring pro needs to master. So rec players never learn to put the ball in play. Pathetic.
