I pre-ordered Planet of the Vampires some time back as I was worried it might sell out. But definitely wait to add that Shinobi set as well as that French movie. Everything they have been doing is absolutely fantastic so far!

Ordered the bundle 10mins after the announcement. Honestly so looking forward to all of these. Got the Feb bundle shipping confirmation this afternoon!. So much to look forward to from this label. Have become a huge Bava fan so Planet of the Vampires is something have been waiting on for years, but Shinobi sounds awesome too. And OMG the colour scheme on that packaging for both of them jeez!

Its insane to me the Shinobi no Mono films are getting some love from a label. A lot of Japanese films, ninja and otherwise, just aren't available outside of Japan (legally). Arrow has kicked out a few lesser known ones like The Rambling Guitarist ones but the older ones about ninjas, gamblers, prisoners and other low key heroes are almost destined to be lost. There's EIGHT Shinobi films, so I hooe this set does well and Radiance plan more. Plus delve more into ninja cinema in general.

Instant pre-order for me, I guess it all depends on pre-orders and how long it sticks around on sale. Absolutely adore Radiance for bringing us more Japanese cinema, especially these lesser known ones!

Check trailers, my review has some footage. It has some similar ideas as alien, but tonally it’s nothing like it.

@@manvfilmI use to check trailers before to order a film and I have already checked the trailer of Planet of the Vampires and off course it very different to Alien(1979) but this makes very interesting the Bava film. I have Blood and Black lace and I love it ! What a beautiful masterpiece!!

A deliciously eclectic collection from Radiance this month Graham. The trailer for Trenque Lauquen looks pretty intriguing. The Shinobi Set is a bit of an essential buy. The only quandary is do I need to buy Planet of the Vampires??? I enjoy the movie, like you I have the Blu-ray, so do I need another copy just for the fancier packaging and new features??? Now that there is a 4K import version out there muddies the entire thing even more………… Collecting for the sake of collecting again. Slave to the spine numbers or upgrade to 4K?

I’ve gotten loads of holes in my spine numbers recently. The 88Films Asian Collection confuses me now. So many Jackie Chan reissues and revised LEs and 4K upgrades. I really don’t know what I have missing anymore. I’ve lapsed on some Masters of Cinema titles also. Sometimes I’ve things in my basket, get distracted and think I’ve bought them. Only to discover a month or two later that I didn’t actually purchase anything. Maybe it’s old age or maybe I’m getting overwhelmed by the sheer number of titles screaming for my money.

@andygardner3910 I don’t think the Jackie chan ones actually have spine numbers, somehow makes them easier to leave behind. Masters of cinema I’m on top of, was shocked to see 88films being back the vault range though. I loved that it was 10 and done.

I've heard that the German release of Planet of the Vampires has the better version, plus two cuts of the film. 4K release in Germany from Koch/Plaion. But Radiance have done a nice job on the packaging, + Indicator inspired of course.....😊

@manvfilm I should've been a bit clearer that the German disc has the different cuts but has the benefit of being a full 4K transfer. The Blu-ray disc on the Raidance release is only mastered from a 4K scan. But saying that, it obviously depended on how well the conversion is achieved

Trailer sold me on trenque lauquen(probably misspelled) and shinobi was a definite purchase. Pre ordered yesterday amongst others. Planet of the vampires doesn't sound like my cuppa so I didn't get the bundle deal. Radiance are really knocking it out of the park overall. Been a few months since I didn't pick up at least a couple titles.

Almost pulled the trigger on an overpriced Kino edition of Planet of the Vampires the other day. Glad I didn't. I'm not much for the trend of making new (and inferior, imo) artwork for classic movies, though.

Hey Graham, with the Radiance titles I'm unsure about I wait until I see your reviews of them. Until I see your reviews I hold off and if it sells out before I've made my decision, we'll it just wasn't meant to be. I truly hold your opinions on films with very high regard, thank you.
