My mom and sister have passed away this year and my dad is suffering from Parkinson’s n dementia in assisted living, my sons live about 45 minutes away and I will be spending my holidays with them but it is sad to go through the holidays without my loved ones and yep I had my hair done today and I feel a little better about myself but still it’s in the back of my mind ❤️

I've lost 6 family members this year, including my youngest son.. I just can't enjoy the holidays after losing one of my sons a few months ago. Idk, I kinda feel selfish because I have 3 other sons, but they also have small kids and toddlers and I feel like they understand, but at the same time the MOM guilt. My mom passed away in 2009, and before that she was fighting leukemia for years so I've been the person who's been doing the holiday dinners for years. But, I don't think I can do anything this year. ❤

I can't count the number of kids (boys) that I've fed when my 4 sons were growing up. As a single mom myself after divorcing their father due to DV when my oldest was just 3yrs old, and not a penny of child support because he left the country, we lived in low income areas because even though I worked 96hrs a WEEK, I just couldn't afford to live in a nicer area and afford clothes, food, and school supplies plus everything else that comes with having kids. I always cooked because it was cheaper obviously. Some kids parents had addiction issues and sold their FS, hell, sometimes I bought them.. 😂 some kids moms just didn't know how to cook, and some worked long hours too. But, my kids father is from Guyana and I learned to make curry, which was a lifesaver because it's cheap and a lot of food. I never told anyone that they couldn't eat at my house, because I know for some it was the only food they got, especially during the summer. Even know with my sons in their mid to older 20's, my head still whips around whenever I hear "MA!" By a young man.. 😂❤ there's still a few who stop by and visit when they're nearby and I'm proud of them all. They've all turned out to be exceptional young men..❤

When u have fur babies, u aren’t alone, I lost my family young, but I have a family . I have a grown son and 2 fur babies. I’m divorced. My parents and my siblings are gone. My siblings and parents died young. But before I had my family. I spent many holidays alone. I don’t considered it alone bc I have pets . I did spend a couple of holidays with friends. I love your videos and advice. It’s fully appreciated. Xx have a great holiday.. I know ppl get depressed during the holidays. But u are correct and give good advice.. I always been a loner so being alone doesn’t bother me. Just cuddle up and watch a great comedy. I personally don’t like the holidays, bc I always lost someone around the holidays. Thank you for remembering there are people that don’t have traditional families. I’ve outlived my family other than a nephew who lives far from me. I had several good friends, same thing. I have some once in awhile friends but not for dinner. Last year, I met a new friend at the local buffet that served dinner. We stood in line for hours, not exaggerating. This year, she and I had a conversation, both alone again. Both happy about it. I have a painting to start. It will be interesting. I haven’t painted in years, but I have great talent passed down from my father. ♥️

I am grateful for being alive. I am grateful for you and your truthful and honest podcasts. I worked for an airplane ✈️ and they are open 365 days a year. The department people would put on an Holiday Buffet Party for all working. Each shift would work on it. It was fun while it lasted. Hospitals are the same 365 days a year. I know we worked so people could get home to their families and loved ones safe. Hospitals I feel are there to take care of people who have been in an accident, incident, and help make the kids happy at the Holidays. Thank you for this message. ❤

I have recent shelter saves in boarding. And have connected with another dog in boarding who was abandoned by his owners. I'm hoping they'll let me take him. I visit almost every day, and I'll be going tomorrow. My family is mentally and emotionally abusive. Narcissistic abuse. Most years end up like this one, i spend the holidays 100% alone with my dogs. Part of the reason i have empathy for shelter dogs is because i know what it feels like to be alone and scared in a big unyielding world. So, my self care tomorrow will be reminding a lonely abandoned dog in boarding that he is not forgotten and that someone wants him.

My dream is one day be able to buy a couple acres of land and have a Little cabin so I can grow my own garden and have some chickens. I also want to be able to rescue dogs and give them a home, even if it's only for a little while if they're seniors or have terminal conditions because everyone deserves a home and love. Unfortunately, I didn't grow up wealthy, ended up being a single mom of 4 due to DV, never dated while I was raising my sons and now I'm 45 and most men my age are happily married, at least the good ones it seems. Starting to have health issues, probably from working 96hrs a week when I was raising my kids because their abusive father left the country after I left him so he wouldn't have to pay child support. Not many men want a 45yr old woman, even if they're older, if they're still single. I feel ya on what you mean..❤

Thank you for this video, this is so relatable to me this year for Christmas, there’s just my husband and my two grown sons, who to them now, is just another day, I would always do Christmas for my Mum, because she absolutely loved Christmas but Sadly she passed away in July and it’s the first Christmas I don’t get to celebrate with her, I don’t have any close relatives nearby and I’m an only child, we’re just going to spend the day doing what we normally would do when our boys come to visit, both are single and living in their own homes now and they’ll probably go spend some of the day with their friends, I Miss My Mum and I Miss My Fur Baby, every year I tell myself that the next year will be better But it hasn’t happened yet. @ Thank you kindly for your kind words, Yes I was very close to my Mum, as close as any Mother and Daughter should be for many years I was the only one in her Life as my Dad passsed away 35 years ago suddenly from a massive heart attack and shook both our worlds, so she has always been close by me, my youngest son was only 4 weeks old when my Dad died, almost to the day, so he was a little comfort for her as he grew up. Had to cut off most of my family due to toxicity. Lucky to have my husband’s family, but it still sucks to be alone. I’ve come to terms with it, however, holidays just bring the emotions back. 😅❤

You're a good person, Britt. We don't have Thanksgiving in New Zealand and I'm kind of grateful for that. I'm sort of dreading Christmas. It will just be me and my son who is autistic and doesn't understand that this used to be my favourite time of year before my Mum died and my Dad moved on with another woman, my brother lives overseas and my sister is doing the in-laws this year and, hardest of all, my daughter is living in the UK and this is my first Christmas without her. I do have my Labradoodle, Coco and I love her and I love my son deeply but it's still going to be kind of lonely.
