During our 1 month tour of Italy we stopped in the small town of Cortina D'Ampezzo to ski in the Dolomites. Cortina turned out to be one of our favorite stops along our journey. Come along to find out why.

My brother went hiking through here a few summers ago, he managed to witness a Ford Cortina convoy, it was so awesome to see the cars all parked up there!

Haha, Fletcher did great but he got dirty so fast :O Yes, we highly recommend Cortina. If you aren't into cold weather sports it's beautiful for Summer mountain hikes as well.

Yes, Cortina is amazing. Traveling with the kids and dog always adds more challenges but it's totally worth it :)

You could visit Cortina in Summer and hike, also very beautiful, but skiing was a lot of fun!

awesome travel...wish i could skii like that... haha only tried it once in skidubai.. :D its nice that even if you lost you're jacket, no one took interest of it... its not the same in other places... :D

The trick to skiing is knowing how to stop. Then you can tackle almost anything and just take it slow. Yeah, we were so thankful to get the jacket back!!!

We are traveling to Cortina for a family ski vacation next year and your videos have been very helpful! How do you feel the difficulty of skiing Cortina compares to resorts in the States? I know they use a different color system in Europe, but judging by the videos, the European blue runs look to me like American blue runs, not green. And the reds look like black diamonds! Am I right, or totally off base? I'm just getting into American blue runs (only been skiing 4 years) and wondering if I'll make it beyond the Socrepes ski area.

Oh my goodness, you will love it!!! I don't remember how the run colors compared but there was certainly plenty of skiable terrain for all levels. I feel like my girls and I were just starting to handle the blues here confidently and we did just fine. I would just start with the easier ones to gain your confidence and work your way up. The town is so amazing as well. Are you taking your ski gear with you or will you be renting it?

Well, this was mostly shot with our gopro hero 5 which is great for sports and such but have since learned that we prefer to use our lumix when we can. It def turns out a better product. What do you use?

Never knew italy had such a great place to ski Janet :D - i would love to learn how to ski/snowboard - but helmi my partner she isnt so Snow friendly :P she may pass on this types of activities hehe - haha fletcher looks unhappy and cold :P - just like my cavoodle when i shower her :P she's so anti water... pampered too much :P

A one I can definitely recommend is the domaine of TIgnes - Val d'Isere in France, this is simply so huge !
