Friend, this was the quote that intrigued me enough to start watching this show months ago. I'm now on Season 6, and it is by far the best show I have ever seen. Somehow I feel like I'm the only one who found Blacklist through Radical Face and not the other way around, but still - I can't thank you enough for helping me discover this.

TV is increasingly a great way to find new music but The Blacklist is by far the best of the lot. The new songs & therefore new acts & more songs I've got from this tv show is astounding!

This song made me so homesick and nostalgic for the days when my best friend and I would spend all day in the woods. The melody and lyrics combo made my cry. Amazing work.

We were sun-burned and shoeless kids It was the dead of July We were skippin' stones in the failing light I smelled the fire place Although we were miles away We were infinite There was no time in those days When all we knew wasn't stolen There was nothing real to lose When our heads were still simple We'd sleep beneath the moon You were something That would always be around When regrets were nowhere to be found Lost out among the trees Our hands scraped the bark You still had bloody knees From your spill in the dark We were both laughing then While carving bad words in the wood We had no need to speak Night, down by the shore We were down by the shore When the skies opened up And all the stars fell into the lake When the water was warm Walked in over my head But you pulled me out by the collar of my shirt Dirt in our ears, sun in our eyes Shirts hung in rags, head in the clouds Our fears had no teeth, hearts were still blind You barely talked and I didn't mind

If summer could be captured in a bottle and then kept secret until someone found and opened it, this song would be just that. It doesn't make me want to smile but it fills me up with warmth and whimsy and it makes me feel content

This makes me miss when my brother and I lived out in the country, and we'd spend a long time out in the woods just playing around. We'd come back with _so_ many ticks, and our parents were always unhappy, especially when we brought the dog and he got ticks too, but we'd always go back out, and just make believe until the sun went down and Dad called us in for dinner, both of us wearing shorts because it was hot as hell. We'd go back in with ticks, scratches, splinters, and thorns all over our arms and legs. It makes me wish I was a kid again, when school was easier, and I was more confident, and my parents were still together- back when things didn't _have_ to make sense, and I wasn't afraid of everything, and I didn't have this damned cynical view of the world. It feels like the only thing I still have from that time is my imagination, which is wild as ever, and the place I escape to when reality is too much, or when it isn't enough. It's weird, that was only seven years ago, but it feels like a lifetime. Honestly, though, listening to this song makes me grin. Makes me cry, too. The lyrics make me nostalgic, but the tone brightens my hope for the future. This song is just very halcyon altogether. But enough of me reminiscing like I'm eighty, I've rambled long enough. ...I'm going to listen to this song again.

Love this song and many others from him, including “The road to nowhere”. Discovered my hidden passion for indie rock whilst watching Blacklist. Most of the soundtrack is Indie Rock. As we get older, we (at least I) find ourselves gravitating to a softer version of “alternative”, namely Indie rock!

Hadn't touched my guitar in a little while, but this song was so great in Blacklist that I paused the episode and looked up the chords. I am now practicing the first few verses with new inspiration. I dare say RF has "struck a chord" with me. I am now a fan :)
