Super helpful video! I never knew about that secret rail during the 2nd skydiving section, or just how easy it was to skip the second giant monster (which is a huge time save.) Easily the hardest S-rank in the game, even an incredibly optimal run is only roughly 500 points over what I believe is the 40,000 requirement.

Thanks you are welcome and yeah the secret rail and second giant monster skip just came naturally after many retry lol And yet i still missed the secret path at the start of the level when you skydive which makes you gain 10 seconds like someone said in the comments

You can cut 10 seconds off by going forward at the start, land on the far part. If you jump off the rail and hit one then drop, or free jump to it, you get a quick boost there

You can also land on the top part on the right to skip the grapple. I don't know if it shaves more time cause you're slow falling, but if you want to start with the gun bots that option is there

I looked this up to see if there was a way to skip the wind fishes, got a good run but missed my shortcut was about to reset, and then I watched further and saw you didn't even try to take it (there is a grind rail near the boost rings that let's yiu skip the 2nd tube) and decided to just keep going, and I finally got the final s rank

For me act 1 was way tougher. The S rank itself isn't too strict. IT'S SURVIVING THAT'S THE HARD PART! There's so much jank in this stage.

My god did it take me forever to get S ranked, I somehow managed to get it without skipping the second monster, the giant loop near the end, and other small shortcuts. IDK how but I somehow got enough rings to save my run, I kept dying to those moving platforms at the bottom of the levels, they were so annoying, Shadow kept falling through them (ADDITION: I also kept dying at the 2nd sky dive shortcut, the small rail wouldn't let me get on it so id just fly through it)

@@NightmareX42 I think because there's a small gap between the rail and where the hole on the wall is, which confuses the game leading to you falling straight through the rails

What is wrong with shadow and changing difficult mode??? In generations easy mode is harder that hard mode and in Sonic Forces you must change level to hard that have S rank in 3 stage.

i had the perfect run going but at 3:05 shadow just started grinding backwards out of nowhere and i ended up losing the platforms rotation and dying fck this game man 😭
