Radical prostatectomy is a surgical procedure commonly performed to remove part of, or, if necessary, all of the prostate gland as well as its surrounding tissues.
In our latest online interview, exceptionally well-regarded leading consultant urological surgeon, Mr Neil Haldar, details how exactly the procedure is performed whilst also providing an overview of the main side effects men can expect following the surgery.
If you are concerned in any way about the state of your prostate, and are considering undergoing a radical prostatectomy, you can book a consultation with Mr Haldar via his Top Doctors profile here: www.topdoctors...

if I have both bladder cancer (non-muscle invasive) as well as intermediate grade prostate cancer, is it true that for the treatment of the prostate cancer I should not do radiotherapy, because radiotherapy will more likely cause recurrence of bladder cancer? Thanks.

I should have had my surgery done in England. I know 5 different friends in Southern California who had the surgery and a couple years later are all still stress incontinent and impotent including myself. The statistics on the side affects of this surgery are totally misrepresented in the U.S. which is because guys not really wanting to talk openly about it.

I pray I never have to go through that . Something always gets missed . I chose radiation . But a more aggressive proceeger might be needed .

Radiation burns and your immune system will suffer. Get it removed and get on with life. You have a better chance of survival with it out.
