I recognize russell KY out of the dispatchers words in huntington. Im guessing the CSX road channel is 160.230 while the dispatcher is 160.520. Also i believe CSX's northern sub out of russell goes straight to columbus. I use a radio shack pro 404 and purchased a NOrfolk southern motorola spectra:) great video

I use the Icom IC-8000 I have 5 of them for rr radios love the sound on a Motorola speaker. They have great RX in the van on a AS ant. I use a Vertex VX-150 for HT's another greta radio very very rugged. Is the 160.230 freqs it shows it is Narrow band right? Is this all u have to do to RX narrow band on these radios? Never had to use narrow band yet around here so I never study the manual on the radio for that yet I thought u might have to find the Freq. Some day the PD here will be all narrow band the BNSF has all new radios but not yet used the narrow band the FCC rule told them in 2011 to do.

Love these V8000 for railfanning! I got 5 of them at the house. They are better then the Vertex VX2200 VHF I use in the van when I am out. I use a Vertex VX-150 HT they are great on RX. and I have 4 of those 2 I bought when they were on close out not going to be made they are sitting in the box in my shack

So this is how the narrow band works on the Icom V8000 I will soon have to do my RR band on it here Iwas going to read the manual soon we havent gone to it yet. The V8000 is a great radio I have 4 as a base 1 as a moble. I heard BNSF was fighting the narrow band they only have 1 sub that is that way its out west I went on a site that showed all the narrow banded RRs most allready are but BNSF has only 1 so far
