Wow! Never saw this before! Those were the days of really good radio. And now in full color and very good quality.

Very nice video with a good feature on Radio Caroline. The Ross Revenge Caroline ship looks amazing too now (In other videos). Wish Caroline could come back on AM. Great Radio Station.

Hi, The ship in this news irem is the Mia Amigo named Caroline South. The Mia Amigo was Radio Atlanta when it came over from the USA. I listened in Deal as the original MV Caroline sailed past as Radio Caroline North. Michael. Caroline Club member 1181

London was so lovely then- no high rise buildings like now.

£15,000 a week revenue would be about 140,000 quid in 2023. Caroline was being paid 7 pounds per every record played which today would be around 140. Great to see a very young Tony Blackburn and Simon Dee in this footage.

What was 199 ? The frequency or wavelength?
@0AndyC0 Жыл бұрын
199 would be the wavelength, same at Luxembourg on 208 or Radio 1 on 247. 199 would translate to a frequency of about 1512kHz.

They often used wavelengths ending in 9, possibly because it sort of rhymed with Caroline - so 'Caroline on 319' in the 80s.

Ahh back when TV voice-overs sounded respectful and rather spiffing lol compared to the common muck and American-style shouting.
