Hard not to automatically connect dots between this event and his death at such a young age out of the blue this last week... not that he was murdered, but that this started him down a dark path where he got caught up in drugs or alcohol, or even suicide. Time will tell us. I feel for his family and his friends, I'm sure this is very difficult for them.

This doesn't pass the smell test. How does the shooter(s) know he's in a RENTAL car at 2am at this location? Why does Donnie believe they're after his parents as well? That tells me he's involved with some less than savory characters.
