For sure thought it would be the top 2 but sure enough this helped. Now I just need a good dash kit to replace the old radio. 89 LTD Crown Victoria

Also my car seems to have 2 speakers mounted in the dash and 2 in the rear deck. Is it hard to remove the 2 speakers inside the dash.

POTUS John H Eden ok. I’m trying to be careful with the trim piece! I got the 2 screws below I’m just nervous for the tabs. I was curious if my piece is the same as yours and comes out as described. Any tips or other references? Thank you!!

I'm trying to find something about what wire is which in my 88 grand marquis, Google isn't much help, and I had a red wire bolted to the back of my stock radio, any ideas?
@edenschildren42385 жыл бұрын
Usually any wire bolted to the radio or harness is a ground....but I would defiantly get a test light and see if it was hot....other than that I have no idea why a wire would be bolted to the chassis of the radio....

@@123nwr2 I used a step down on mine from the factory wires in the trunk to the amp....worked fine...unless your using a aftermarket radio in which I suggest running new wires anyway...

@@edenschildren4238 got it all plugged in and using my test light I got power to the radio, it wont turn on, that red wire is not hot so I'm waiting for my brother rn who has done this stuff in older cars and he may be able to confirm if it's a needed ground

Darn, mine is a 1990 LX, it is different.

Does your radio have 4 holes...two on the right two on the left if so you need a tool to insert in those holes at the same time..I always use a coat hanger bent in a u shape.... once inserted it acts like a key and will unlock the radio and it should slide out...
@grantw.whitwam99486 жыл бұрын
Thanks, but no, the 1990 and 91s are screwed in with 4 screws behind the trim. And the trim is different, it's actually the heater control assembly I need to fix.
