KAZZ was the second FM station in ATX, launching (as the calls might indicate) with a jazz format, and broadcasting from the High Fidelity Inc. showroom alongside the city's first FM station, KHFI (which had a classical format). Later, new ownership would expand the station's programming to include other genres, including rock 'n roll. They did live broadcasts from Austin clubs several nights a week. Later the station changed to KOKE-FM and created a progressive country format, evolving to mainstream country before flipping to AC and adopting the present calls of KKMJ, Majic 95.5.
