Nice spacious store Steve, thanks for showing it...I have that Solomon Burke Proud Mary LP...don't have too much by him but that's one I found in the cheap bins locally. Which are not a dollar here but usually around $5, sometimes a little over but also can be under that. Think the only dollar bins I've found were at Jive Time Records in Seattle, not sure if they still have those but I had some fun there in my early years of collecting. Cool shirt, cheers
@stevecarlsonvinylcommunity914711 ай бұрын
Doug , as I have toured stores I have found less and less of them also. Stores pay almost nothing for those albums so it does surprise me when they charge over a buck.

Nice store with an interesting collection, very eclectic. Love the post it note on one of the albums that says "Personalized if your name is Barbie". Nice copy of the Catherine Wheel album there, I would have probably picked that up, but then I would have second guessed the price tag and put it back. Love those Billy Bragg and Wilco series of albums. They are usually going for a premium price though. Nice, big $1 section to browse through, not sure if I would find anything to pick up there (but for $1, you never know), but it would still be fun to browse through it. That Miles Davis was worth picking up a 2nd copy, good call on that one. Nice store

Mike, I have that Catherine Wheel album otherwise I would have had it long ago. Jim has a great sense of humor so he has fun with post it notes ! A lot of people go through the $1 bins. I do look at the classical once in awhile but generally I don’t go back there.

That poster story definitely rings true Steve. I do the same thing at times. I have not seen that Tull poster since the seventies. Crazy. Being a completist meant more to me in the early days of collecting than it does now. So I would grab all of the greatest hits albums as they were released. They were new releases. I had to have them. They would sometimes include one or two new tracks which was nice. Do they still do that? Nowadays I will buy one if I do not own anything by a certain artist and I am in the mood to hear their music. Radio Wasteland looks like a nice store. Love those dollar grabs. Way to go Steve~ Rob/Boston
@stevecarlsonvinylcommunity914711 ай бұрын
Rob, I was the same way. I had a lot of greatest hits comps from the same artist especially in CD. It seemed like a good idea back then, you just bought it. Now, to your point 1 is all you need to scratch that itch you get once in awhile for that music. Always a pleasure to hear from you Rob

Interesting that Tony Bird was in the jazz section. He's a folk artist from South Africa. Bird of Paradise is a pretty good album and has a great pop song called, "She Loves Someone." For some reason it isn't on KZbin. The album usually sells for a couple of bucks. It's worth it just for that song, although there are other good songs on it.
