This is a drum cover of one of my favorite songs by my favorite band, Radiohead with Roland V-Drums.

🥁Drummer Yoyoka’s BIOGRAPHY🥁
Born in October 2009, YOYOKA started playing drums at the age of two, played live at four, and formed her family band "Kaneaiyoyoka" at five. When she was six years old, she released her first CD while in kindergarten.
In addition to drums, YOYOKA sings, plays the piano, and is a songwriter. In 2018, at the age of eight, she became the youngest weekly champion in the under-18 category of the international female drummer contest "Hit Like A Girl". Her application video, a cover of Led Zeppelin's "Good Times Bad Times" was featured on NBC, NPR, in Rolling Stone Magazine and in Billboard and then spread all over the world. Her drumming prowess has been praised by music legends such as Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin), Ian Paice( Deep Purple), Roger Taylor(Queen), Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters), Sheryl Crow, Gene Simmons and Eric Singer (KISS), Kim Gordon (Sonic Youth), Hayley Williams (Paramore), Sass Jordan, Tony Royster Jr., Brad Wilk (Rage Against the Machine), Derrick McKenzie (Jamiroquai) and many more.
In 2018, at the age of eight, YOYOKA appeared in Japan's famous rock festival "RISING SUN ROCK FESTIVAL in EZO" as the youngest performer ever. The following year, she made a surprise appearance Fall Out Boy’s stage at Summer Sonic Tokyo 2019 in front of an 20,000 audience. Later that year, she was invited to Cyndi Lauper’s show at Tokyo Orchard Hall as the guest drummer for two songs on the last day of her Japan tour.
YOYOKA is endorsed by world-class brands such as Nike, Moncler, and UNIQLO. In 2018, she shot a Nike campaign in Thailand, followed by a Moncler campaign shoot in New York in 2019. She became the face of Moncler alongside actor Will Smith. Both campaigns were launched worldwide and were very well-received.
Already at the age of eight, YOYOKA became the youngest drummer ever to sign an endorsement contracts with drum makers Pearl and VIC FIRTH. Since then, she has also signed with Zildjian, CYMPAD and DW.
YOYOKA’s attention from the world does not stop. In January and May 2018, YOYOKA was invited to LA twice to make an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, one of the most popular show in the United States, where she was praised by Dave Grohl from the Foo Fighters who made a shoutout to her on the show. She also impressed the audience with a successful show at the legendary live house "Whisky A Go Go".
In April 2019, YOYOKA was selected as Newsweek's "100 Japanese People Respected by the World" and "World's TOP500 drummers” by Drummer World, both the youngest in history.
In 2020, Pearl showcased her talent at the 2020 NAMM show in Anaheim, the world’s largest musical instruments trade show. She was the youngest female and only Japanese drummer ever to appear.
The impact of YOYOKA continues to spread worldwide. Her favorite drummers are John Henry Bonham, Chris Coleman, Nate Smith, Chad Smith and Dave Grohl. Her dream is to travel and play sessions with people all over the world.

Wasn't this song from around the same time as Thom Yorke did that bleak solo album? I remember Harrowdown Hill hitting very hard - even at the age of 11, I had been following the whole Iraq fiasco very closely, obtaining Parliamentary reports through a tour guide friend, and David Kelly's untimely demise struck me as suspicious even then. I also still think there's more to the Soham/Lakenheath girls' murder than we have ever been told too...

The whole amazing record is very organic even when it sounds like synths it is usually one of the three guitar players just doing weird stuff but they can replicate it live watch the In Rainbows session live from the basement it might blow your mind it is that good.

@@chrisegbertky I don't have an issue with Yoyoka's taste in music. She and I listen to the same stuff. It's the brunt of her fans that are on the questionable side. Most of them stopped listening to new music, it would seem, once they graduated from high school... in 197X. I never made that mistake. Which is why when Yoyoka covers "Silk Sonic" I love it as much as when she covers "Deep Purple", because she's actually playing ALL the music that I like and listen to. Everything she played for her birthday was awesome.

Wow! Amazing cover of this song. Radiohead are one of the best live bands ever and don't get enough credit for it. Philip Selway is a very under-rated drummer who comes up with incredible compositions, and Yoyoka greatly honors him here.

I really enjoyed this and thought the Roland drums fit well into the feel of the song and clearly, Yoyoka can get the most out of any kit she sits at (Live show at Crossroads as an example). I am pretty sure this was recorded during the Soma family's quarantine period after returning from Germany. I read some somewhat disparaging remarks as to why she would choose to play these over her Pearls but if this was in a situation where this location wouldn't allow the volume of the acoustic kit it makes perfect sense. Also during this period, I beleive she was preparing for the Roland Summit (if anyone knows of a link to that I would appreciate it). @Jack Spratt makes some excellent commentaries in this thread about obligations due to endorsement contracts and if anyone takes the few minutes to read her bio above her endorsements are not just musical brands. I noticed recently that her little 'adverts' for Donner and Yamaha have a 'paid endorsement' tag. I quite enjoy these more natural Yoyoka 'ads' and I don't doubt she has helped sell beginner instruments to budding musicians. I bought a Donner practice pad kit through learning the brand from Yoyoka. The only time I can recall Yoyoka looking totally disgruntled at an endorsement session was NAMM where she was stuck with what looked like Roland's absolute beginner kit for a session. Oh, and of course the classic death ray looks at Bambi for the fashion show gig! All musicians deserve to earn a living - it is a hard go in any artistic endeavour!

I am not a musician or a drummer, but I think that she and all others need to pay attention to other musicians so she can SYNC with them and not just play her own way or speed. That is why she is "serious" when she is playing in a gig. Covering songs and playing in a gig is just different.
