It’s hard to actually focus on learning because this is so beautiful, this song always got to me and your playing is fantastic.

I'll have to step my piano game up with this one just as I did my guitar game with Paranoid Android. It's gonna be a journey but I am sure it'll be worth it

Sends shivers down my spine. How a band can achieve so much. This is such a powerful song. Looking forward to learning this one. The 555 like goes to me, which is refreshing as I keep encountering 666... A lot this year. I'm neither sentimental nor superstitious. Update: You play so beautifully. It's not easy to follow due to my lack of experience, but I learned a lot watching how you play. I like the way you tackle sections, and you took the song to another level with the skills on show, while making it look effortless. I came here to try something new. My love for music was shattered this year. I'm a guitarist/musician and something terrible happened that left me with (say) an injury that has cut my ability to play guitar to about 30% after a lifetime of dedication. I found some temporary peace in learning the basic of this song. Thank you.

This is fantastic, but I’d suggest updating this tutorial by zooming in on your hand placement more and splitting the screen with a tutorial of the keys and the color lines striking each key as you play a note on top

Great tutorial. I am usually play almost as you, but at the start notes of first chord instead of (A - > E -> C# -> E) i play ( A -> E -> C# - > A_octave_up) . it creates dynamic. Do you know what notes originally had been played by thom yorke? I can't get them from live gigs clearly.

Daisy, I don't know what notes are played when Thom does it live, but I think either your version or my version are fairly close. Cheers!

I think Tom uses his left hand differently. He does octaves and alternates highs and lows, adding the fifths.

This is a great video, BUT this is not a full piano tutorial. The first half was perfect, then you left me high and dry to decode your chord sheet for the remainder. I would rate this video as an "A" for your ability to tutor (In the first half). In the second half, you showed us a desirable extension of the song--without a tutorial. I was not sure what you meant by referencing a video from the past. If there is a tutorial for the second part of this song (That you played, rather well, but did not explain), I'd love to view it!! Thanks! And thanks for this video post!

Justin, Thanks for your comment. I didn't realize I hadn't included a link to my version, which should be referenced for this tutorial. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oYHKlY2iga1jfZY Let me know if that helps point you in the right direction.

It was written as C#minor but what’s the real key? Sounds kind of Phrygian or something.
@reggles_shorts2
@reggles_shorts2 2 жыл бұрын
I believe the song is written using the notes from G# phrygian dominant scale, as G# appears to be the tonic chord, and the 3rd degree has been sharpened as apposed to regular G# phrygian. G# - A - B#(C) - C# - D# - E - F#

When you do the a major is there a reason why you play it with your 1st finger instead of your thumb when you play the same e note you just played with your thumb? Is there some secret I don’t know about? Or is that just a vibe thing you do maybe?
