One of the best concerts I've ever been to. Every detail was perfect. When I pulled into the car park, an usher handed me a bunch of Radiohead stickers and then directed me to ample parking space. The bar was easy to get to, and the toilets were clean with orderly queues which moved quickly. Radiohead were on top form and the circus tent just made it that bit more special; such a memorable experience. When we were leaving, there was no mile long tailbacks, no waiting for hours to get out of the car park; we simply drove out and were home (back to Dublin) within an hour. Everything about the gig was perfect. You could say, everything was in its right place :)

I wish I could say it was the best gig I was at but at the time I felt underwhelmed and let down…. 20 years later Kid A is an amazing album. I wish I could turn back time and appreciate the gig though today’s eyes.. I’m now up on the lore why they pivoted after OK computer.. better late than never this was a fucking great gig. Kid A was not super well received in the beginning because it completely broke people's expectations, so they had no idea what to think. So yeah, don't feel bad about it. I was lucky enough to catch this tour as a 17 year old exchange student at St. Denis, right outside of Paris. October 2000. The record hadn't dropped yet. As I approached the tent, I heard incredible, strange, euphoric sounds. Was this what Kid A sounded like? I worked my way into the crowd. Incredible lush sounds...but it didn't look like Radiohead. "Who is this?" I asked the man nearby. "The opening act," he said. "They are called Sigur Ros." Suffice it to say, the rest of the set, and the rest of the show were completely era-defining for me. We should remember that it was right at this cultural moment that Bjork's Selma Songs also dropped. Incredible.

Ahhh... I was at this show! It was terrific. Kid A had come out literally just a few days earlier, maybe 10 days. Radiohead was already big, but they had yet to reach the peak of their popularity, so you could stand back or walk up as close to the stage as you'd like. I somehow remember, at one point, Thom saying something like... "This is a new song.. We haven't decided whether we're calling it Egypt Song or Pyramid Song..." It was still 6 months or so before they released Amnesiac, so it was brand new to almost everyone, meaning tons of people were still kinda talking over it, instead of singing along like they would now. In any case, looking forward!!!
