the first time i heard nude the intro instantly struck me as powerfully beautiful, but mysteriously so. when it cuts away you're left suspended in tension for the resolve. finally hearing it in reverse at the end blew my MIND. one of my favorite music listening memories

This song is so underrated, Reckoner is good but i think Nude deserves more appreciation, the best song in the whole album in my opinion and also because this song is so personal to me.

@@Cristalskulle well it's not that underrated but most of the time people talk about "How To Disappear Completely", "Let Down" or "True Love Waits". They are really good songs but i think people leave "Nude" behind or other songs like "Just", "Everything In It's Right Place", "Blow Out", etc.

I first heard this in like 2008 (right around when it came out) and not only did I hear that intro as a backwards vocal line, I waited for the upshot, for it to be done in forward motion, and it was very satisfying when it happened. This is not, like, a “big brain” moment, this is knowing what a Chekhovs gun is, that something needs to pay off if you’re gonna introduce something so prominently as that backwards recording.
