the mysterious yet funky ending in this song's live performances are freaking amazing

Okay, I'm going to stop commenting on all your videos lol. Just want to say that there is very clearly 4-6 people who are jealous of your (and your friend's) talent. Either that or they just don't like Radiohead and go around disliking everything associated. I have never heard covers of any band from any artists that are as spot-on accurate and just down-right good as yours. Your understanding of their sounds and all the little nuances, and your ability to replicate it is unparalleled. When the dreaded day comes that they finally hang it up for good, you could seriously tour in their place. I always feel weird pumping someone's tires so heavily, but you deserve all the credit in the world.

Hey uhhhh Joe - how is it that at 4:12 or so you start playing a lick that’s from The Smile song Eyes and Mouth? I believe it uses dotted 8th note delay in The Smile live performance when Johnny is playing it. But given this cover was recorded a few years ago (pre-dating the Smile song)…. How is that possible?
@JoeEdelmann32 жыл бұрын
Haha good ear! So Jonny actually did play that riff as a live version outro solo for Talk Show Host before he transposed/transformed it into Just Eyes and Mouth! I was super excited to hear it as a new song.

Hey I’m doing an instrumental cover of this but I’m having trouble with the keyboard part at 2:34 , are you just playing octaves? Also, are you using delay in the solo?
@JoeEdelmann35 жыл бұрын
Josh Hazelden yep, Jonny’s dotted eight single repeat delay trick again! And the key part I forget exactly, but it’s not octaves it’s 10th intervals (so a major/minor third above the octave of the left hand note. I’ll take a closer look later.
