hi,i got a TK708,how do you programm the Tx Timer? mine is transmetting 1 minute! and stop transmetting, i am using it on Echolink node here and his tx is to short. Thanks for the help gervais,ve2ckn

Are these radios worth buying for a beginner? There’s one available for $80 Canadian here in Alberta. The ads just says TK705 no letter D on the box. Thanks.

Depends if you have the programming cable or not... If not, and dealer mode is not enabled, then you wont be able to do much with the radio.

@@Radionut63 Thank you for the quick reply. What radio would you recommend to me for starting out on? I have no transmit licence but have wanted to get it for some time now. Money isn’t flush so a not so expensive radio suggestion would be appreciated. I assume from you’re accent you are east of me in the Maritime’s. Thanks and stay healthy.

All the commercial gear is OK if you can get your hands on the programming gear and software.. But like you said, with no license would not be good. You can listen all you want, but not transmit. Amateur gear can be bought fairly cheap on swap shops and classifieds. Sometimes pretty cheaply.

Programming software...might be able to set in thru Dealer mode.. not sure tho.

Wanna do that again ..... but this time tell us what your pressing when you start to play with the tone and offset ..... I see your pressing something on the front but we can't see the steps ..... you don't tell us what you do to get in to that mode.

it is a VHF 142-174mhz FM commercial radio.. you talk on it!

@@Radionut63 With whom can I talk on it? I'm sorry for the weird questions. My dad has 25 of these lying around same brand and the same model, all of em. and idk what is it they do. He tells me that you put em in a car and you can talk to someone else with these. What is the range for the communication it can do and how can I talk to someone on them. Please drop a link for the video if you've made one. Again, Thank you for the answer.
