She made life incredibly difficult for a lot of New Zealanders.

Dear World: This woman was a single mother, bought a house on welfare and used "training incentive allowance" which was a fees free program given to single parents and the disabled to go to university for free. Then she got in to politics, and cut off that same allowance for others, denying them the opportunity that she got. This is the definition of FYIGM. Then she exposed personal details of women raising children with disabilities. Then she sold off huge swathes of public housing, and played a great part in creating the housing crisis we have today. I am nothing but ashamed of her.

She was a fair yet firm woman, but her 'Thatcherism' appproach to welfare reform was disastrous.

She's become very contemplative in her retirement from politics; very good to see. While many will criticise her time in governement, particularly regarding welfare - she clearly worked incredibly hard and cared deeply. Ka mau te pai aunty Paula, wish you all the best.

Unpopular opinion: I like Paula Bennett. Not necessarily for her time in government but I do like her personality, her colourful dress sense and her obvious west auckland Kiwiness.

Rehashing same old tired topics. I prefer Shilo Kinos stories myself...
