Nokio Leaves Dru Hill, Talks 'Unsung' Misconceptions

Nokio sat down with Magic 95.9's Steph Lova on Monday (February 24) to clear up a few misconceptions and confirm whether or not he's still in the famed 90s quartet. Nokio also expounded upon on some of the stories told in Unsung, such as that infamous Platinum Party fight.

I watched the entire video and I still don’t know what he’s talking about. Apparently he has an issue with the manager Kevin Peck? He doesn’t specify what the issue is. Lots of talking around the issue. Dru Hill was one of the greatest R&B ensembles of the modern era, it’s a shame it’s come to this. But on the flip side now that Sisqó is apparently the only original member left, he might as well go solo and keep making music. Jeffrey Osborne left LTD and at age 71, he still has a thriving tour schedule and he performs hits from the group too. That means Sisqó could potentially still have a twenty or thirty year career left.

Nokio is very much the braintrust of Dru Hill from a writer/producer standpoint (just like a certain DeVanté), so to see his departure play out over social media/interviews is pretty upsetting. I knew there had to be more behind one member after another leaving besides chasing solo/gospel careers and the group success stalling after the third album. Now I know it’s down to management...and it seems like Sisqo’s still getting top priority rather than all parties involved.
