Sounds NICE! Excellent tip! And Berwyn is a cutie, as usual. I use a toothpick and put a tiny drop of Deoxit In each miniature tube socket hole.

I,do that cleanup using #800 grit sand paper , wrapping a small piece in a circle to clean the outside off the pins, then a smaller diameter roll to clean the inside pins. A touch TARNEX on a Q tips does good too.

Nice tip. I’ve been repairing tube sets for just over a year, love it! I’m thinking of putting together some videos and starting up a channel. We’ll see, still thinking it over. Keep up the videos, great stuff. Dave W6cpy

Very good tip Bob....not sure its the #1 problem...but, I say it is one of the most common problems Ive ran into!!! Thanks for sharing and reminding us....we get lazy sometimes and dont clean the pins or the sockets...we are anxious to see if it plays!!! Take Care and Be Safe--Larry
