Adam - fyi, I just updated my CCV Radium install for better hose routing and cable management. I emailed Radium 4 photos showing what I did. This is the body of most of that email. Regarding the CC install instructions and the fuel line coming up to the fuel pump, I just thought I’d update you on what I did a little different with hose length and routing for the CCV catch can, Focus RS application. Notice that a longer (18in) hose for the CCV can inlet port coming from the valve cover connector, and locating the connector pointing in the OE direction allows the fuel line not to be forced up by the hose as installed in your directions. The 2 can hoses are tie wrapped together in 2 places to avoid the clutch hydraulic line behind them. That’s a detail but the hoses don’t touch anything back there. Also, I was able to tie wrap the pump control line with it’s stand off to the pump bracket avoiding crimping it against the bracket as shown in the directions.

@7.00 from experience of fitting a brass fixing to a new hose pipe I found dipping the tube end into warm water for a bit softened the tube a bit to allow the insertion of the brass fitting easier. Not sure for your application here if it would be possible to do but just a thought. 😊.

This catch can works great on my Focus RS. Only problem is if the hose on the bottom used for evacuation falls off or comes loose, as I just discovered, the can won’t serve its purpose, as it requires vacuum to work...so unfortunately found it disconnected, connected it back so now it should work again as designed.

Great video. Very informative and helpful. I'm able to locate the ccv and pcv of my ford explorer 2.0 ecoboost which is by the way same with your engine. I just have a question on the ccv side of your catch can. The ccv valve is the outlet going to the inlet of your catch can, and the outlet of your catch can is going to the turbo intake?

I wonder if they offer this for the ST as well ? Currently I have a little one on the back side, but it's impossible to get to for checking. This is a much better engineered solution. BTW, what about a catch can for your front PCV side - in my experience with the ST at least, there's a lot more oil collected there than on the back side........
@AdamRainey
@AdamRainey 4 жыл бұрын
You can indeed have it for the ST (their documentation talks about different steps depending on if you are installing on an ST or RS). You are right that PCV side will fill quicker and I am indeed considering my options right now, Radium vs Mishimoto :)

Adam, I am about to do the complete Radium catch can kit on my RS. Question: Aren't the top ports the input, and the side ports the output of both cans? On the baffle plate/catch can video you attached the PCV hose to the top (input) of the CC per the directions. On the CCV can, you say that you connected the valve cover hose to the side port. That would be the reverse of the PCV can.

Adam, why ccv side & not pcv side ? Obviously not a criticism, I just need educating lol
@AdamRainey
@AdamRainey 4 жыл бұрын
So a couple of reasons. The way I am progressing with my mods is in a logical progression towards 'stage 2' part of which will be boost pipes and intercooler. The CCV side blows oily air into the intake which then goes through the pipes and intercooler so it makes sense to do this catch can before doing those mods - the PCV vents into the intake manifold after the intercooler so doesn't affect it. Then also I am not 100% decided on what catch can is best for PCV - radium or Mishimoto. I also have the Mountune breather plate which will be reducing the amount of blow by on the PCV side so it isn't as much of a concern right now

@AdamRainey
@AdamRainey 3 жыл бұрын
I don't know what this 'VPS sensor' is that you are talking about. The pressure sensor that is re-used in this installation and remains in literally the same location is the only sensor at play here and being that it is in the same position means that there is no chance of a CEL
@pumpkinspicelatte1731
@pumpkinspicelatte1731 3 жыл бұрын
Oh I am sorry, the VPS sensor, is the Variable Pressure Sensor in the clean side line from the valve cover to turbo intake tube. The facelift ST, RS and newer ecoboost all have them. I do know the USDM prefacelift STs didnt. But anyways the only reason I asked and I understand I see you didnt move the sensor, but there are alot of people, the companies even that make the cans even, that say theyve seen CELs on the clean side where that sensor is, some people have said that they think its becoz of the flow change, and some people dont exprienve any issues...so its prolly something like they arent paying attention and pinching one of the lines reducing flow. But Im just asking becoz before I drop 500+ plus on my catch can kit I wanted to make sure real world someones installed them without issues. Thats all. Wanted to see it with my eyes per say. Lol thanks bud, good video
