I love that Dad mall grabs. Anyhow I bought this game on launch and I really love it. It's not perfect by any means, but it's just a great game, and the leniency on landing tricks has made it a whole new experience compared to the previous two - You really can treat it like Tony Hawk and just have fun, you're no longer tied into live-or-die perfection - It's improved the gameplay massively, especially for an audience that just wants to chill out with a good skate game. They did an awesome job here. It definitely needs some patches to iron out the bugs, you're right about it not always 'recognizing' an achievement, but other than that what they put together is surprisingly solid. I've been impressed.

Game is addicting as hell. I got it for free this month from playstation plus. So I'm not mad at all. I love trying to complete an entire stage in one combo. The music is so chill and keeps my newborn asleep so I can get some gaming time in. (Major plus for me). I skip all the dialogue and story. They make it easy to skip and just get to the skating. Game is great, if there was a demo out there that I knew of I would've bought the game at full price. I can see myself coming back to this game over and over

This is my first Olli game. I was loving it for the first half, then the difficulty spike was absolutely brutal. From 0 to 100 is what it felt like. That said I eventually got much better and am back to mostly enjoying it. I agree that the challenges are far too vague and far too finicky for the level of precision they demand of you. Would love to see them patch in a smoother difficulty progression and fix some of the challenge issues.

Very solid review, Rad Rat. I played the 2nd OlliOlli game and got quite far but I agree, the difficulty of those games really are off putting. So I was glad to hear you say that it's toned down for this one, definitely gonna try and pick this up. Thanks!

They removed nollie and reverts?? Really??? Fuckkkkkkk (Edit to add) After everything you said I’m kinda worried it’s not gonna be as good as the second one. I loved how hard it was. I worked for years to get the platinum trophy for both one and two literally getting stuck on challenges for months at a time. When I finally 100% them ahhhhhhmygawwwwd it was amazing. It looks like they are trying to appeal to a broader audience which sure, that’s cool. Make that money. But just based on your review I’m already feeling like it’s not as technical. I just hate spending money on something that is not as good as the OG. Anyone out there also obsess over 100% the first two and have gone thru the new one? Any insight?

I really disliked Olli Olli and was apprehensive about this release. But this game straddles the line between user friendly and quite dense. It’s well worth the purchase and has plenty of collectibility and 100% challenges. I thought the design was great too and would love to see a sequel

I bought OlliOlli 2 once because PlayStation said "similar to Tony Hawk (5 at the time I think)". And I want my money back. It just wasn't fun at all. Maybe I can just play TH games... Even 5. OlliOlli is just strange and 2D games are always too hard because of the limited movement.
