Mom, you are remarkable. You exude, love. You were sad when you talked about society and yourself, not understanding yourself, what it is to have a child with the diagnosis Raedyn has. Of course you didn't, until he came into your life. I see a mom, a woman, who has given such love and understanding, likely throughout your entire life. You mentioned that it comes down to parents to teach their children that everyone should be included. Yet, here you are with a big brother who instantly connected to his little brother. And you advocate for Raedyn and all children. You are a gift to your children as they are to you. You are a gift to society. And...Julian for president! He has my vote. This reminds me, there was a girl with Pfeiffer syndrome at my elementary school. I remember the family gave a video about her to the teachers to show us kids at the beginning of the school year. It explained a bit about her condition then showed her siblings singing and playing with her, then hugging her. I believe we also had an opportunity to ask our teachers additional questions. I think this was a great way to spare a nine year old so many questions and stares when just starting a new school year. I especially remember the sisters dancing and hugging her in the video. Showing how the siblings accepted her with unconditional love set a fantastic example for us (we were 8-9 year olds at this time). I was never in the same class as her but we shared hallways for three years and I didn't witness bullying. The one negative comment I heard about her was "she's too sassy" which is not completely atypical for a preteen girl 😅 also we hated how our least favorite teacher criticized us by pointing out how the girl with fused arm bones had better penmanship than the rest of us.

​@@mrmoviemanic1 Unfortunately I saw through social media that she passed away suddenly in her home a few months ago, at the age of 36. I kind of want to send the family in the SBSK video her celebration of life video.... On the one hand it's a bit morbid since she just passed away at a relatively young age (though still older than the initial life expectancy she was given). On the other hand, I'd love to show them that she absolutely lived her best life and was thriving with a big smile on her face despite all her health challenges. At the time of death she was living with roommates and had her own independent job. It seemed she was very much surrounded by love and joy.

I have Pfeiffer syndrome too! I love this channel and seeing other kids and adults who also have various conditions and syndromes. I’ve never met anyone else who has Pfeiffer syndrome and it’s cool to be able to get to know them through social media. Though I’m wondering why Raedyn is unable to speak. That’s not a symptom of Pfeiffer.

Something I’ve always noticed about syndromes or, anything in general, is that things just come in different forms for different people. He’s only 2 years old so I suppose he just needs slightly more time to adapt to speech and the shape of his mouth and tongue (because it looks like there isn’t enough room for his tongue?). But it’s looking very good, lots of potential for his development I feel like.

Oh my goodness! He’s so cute! Me and my sister are both fully blind so I understand what it feels like to be annoyed the way people treat you.I wish that my sister was still too. We are now pretty grown-up, she is nine and I’m 17, but I would do anything to get to hold her in my arms like I did when she was two and listen to her go on and on about pointless things I could never understand. I think it’s very important for kids to have an understanding of what it means to be different, physically and mentally.It’s nice that kids who have siblings who are special understand these things better than other people. in my opinion, every kid who has a special needs sibling or is special-needs themselves is part of a very wonderful club and should be honoured to be a part of it. our differences connect us. this is a wonderful family.

Moms comment about balancing him being a 2 year old and wanting him to do things but having to remember he’s medically fragile hit home. My son is also medically complex and even though we want them to experience life and do all the fun things we have to vigilant of their health.
