Growing up our dishwasher was used as a drying rack for our hand washed dishes. I don't think we ever actually used it to wash dishes.

My daughter is the same way. I walked in the kitchen & she was crying one day. Because there was some rice in the sink & she couldn't "look at it" because it was "freaking" her out 😒
