Nice little build and I like how you put in the effort to make improvements to the kit, you did however miss out a couple of obvious things on the aircraft, the pitot tube extending from the nose and the lamp directly below it which is always switched on when the Arrows fly their displays.

Thank you, and yes, this kit is very, very basic when it comes to the smaller details. It was a palette cleaner for me before a bigger build, so I didn't go all out on the scratch building.

Very nice! Ive not taken time to watch these in a few months, relaxing! It was fun to see how you did a gloss finish, but I laughed at "Oil leaks in the landing gear" Im guessing the red arrows dont have oil leaks :)
@TheInnerNerd7 күн бұрын
Thank you for joining me again and think that the videos are relaxing. A super gloss finish isn't my normal jam but it was quite fun on this little model to get me going again. You'd be surprised to see that even the reds have dirty planes. I found a few images that are in my reference bank on Pinterest that show a stained well bay area. pin.it/3hOzxfuc0 At 200ft and 400 knots the crowd don't pick it up, but when they're parked it's a different story. Thanks for watching :)

What a wonderful build, one’s just gotta luv the Red Arrows! Now then: Is it a bit much to do all the extra work on a cheap kit? Or is it because it’s cheap that allows you to do it? Do you choose your paints because; They are exactly what you want? You have got used to them? Or you buy the cheapest/ best value paint you can? Great video, lovely style Bob England PS I had another set of questions but forgotten them so an edit may pop up?!
@TheInnerNerd2 ай бұрын
Hey Bob and thanks for watching. I do this amount of work on all my models, but if you want this to be a cheap and simple kit then that totally makes sense. You can make it how you want. I like to choose paints that I know I work well with. MRP and AKRC have always worked well for me and I like the accuracy of the MRP paints for colour. AKRC can be airbrushed or hand painted so that's thier advantage over the MRP. Hence both types of paint. Thanks again and if you've got more questions add another comment, I dooms get notified with edits, so I won't see it :) Matt, a brit abroad.

Thank you. I've got a 1/32 Bf109 on the channel which I enjoyed greatly. Have a HKM 1/32 Mosquito in the stash as well, thinking of making that in a series of videos focusing on more advanced techniques. Does that sound like content that you'd like? Thanks for watching :)

@TheInnerNerd yeah i watched your BF109 build. To be honest all your builds are great watches so most definitely Interested. I would be more than willing to donate a kit if interested just to see what you can do with it.

Matt, at last a YTer who uses a rotary tool! The first I've seen. You've taught me quite a lot here and given me a few ideas, such as your brass tube oleos which might solve one of my problems in a Westland Lynx doing deck landing trials diorama I'm getting info together for. Has your jet just been pushed back? Is the nose leg the right way round? (Sorry, my inner nerd showing).
@TheInnerNerd2 ай бұрын
Thank you. Glad the brass tube has helped you out also, best if luck with the Lynx. And no, it's on the right way around, look again ;)

@TheInnerNerd2 ай бұрын
I've seen that they've gone down the MRP style lines and gone for then new pre thinned bottles instead. I was building quite the collection but have recently gotten into MRP. I'll have to try the new AKRC sometime and see how they compare. Paint never stays the same for long and they're always changing the bottles or chemistry just as you get a collection started! @@TheInnerNerd Ignore 'em Rivet Counters mate. Splendid job given it is a starter kit. You built it ❤❤
@Damien-q8t15 күн бұрын
This totally defeats the whole purpose of building this kit......the idea is ts a STARTER kit and a starter is NOT going to have the skills or abilities you have to use after market parts and photo etch....also most starters won't have an airbrush.
