To be fair Sinner could and should take the first set, but when it came down to serving for it, he simply handed the break back to Rafa. @haajiryabre3353 жыл бұрын
@@mainemceachern1521 what in the world are you trying to say? First you say Nadal has the best in mental aspect the last 10 years based on what? you also said Djokovic is mentally stronger but not strong as young Rafa. Until 2010 Rafa had only 2 majors in surfaces other than clay. What does that of course he was mentally good on clay. When we judge mental aspect of a player we judge overall on all surfaces not on clay. Djokovic undoubtedly won player of the decade From 2011 to 2020. Let me make something clear Djokovic was in the shadow of fedal and wasn’t good enough to win majors like them whether it was health wise and game. Remember he could’ve turn out to be Berdych, Tsonga, ferrer. Like those guys he was in the shadow of fedal Then he thrived through adversity(including health issues, pro fedal crowd) overcame health issues, and became arguably better than the two greatest players fedal. If that doesn’t make you the mentally strongest player, I don’t know how you define being mentally strong.

I like this match from Rafa a lot as he had to overcome some spotty serving, the unfortunately all too familiar wobble (usually precipitated by hitting short and/or an unusual cluster of unforced errors) and an awesome stretch of tennis by Sinner yet ended the match with a top notch 3rd set. The problem for Sinner who's such a big hitter off both wings is that when you play that aggressively the issue of whether that's sustainable comes into play. For 4-5 games, he was seemingly smacking 90-100 mph ground strokes at will. I thought Rafa made some great adjustments by changing the pace, shape and depth of shot which impacted the groove Sinner was in. Then Sinner had to serve for the set and the moment seemed to get to him and he struggled to find his groove for the rest of the match excepting a nice stretch in the 2nd set. This is a great stepping stone match for Rafa as he will work to build on his consistency as well as his serving which he will need as we remain on track for another epic Rafa Djoker showdown. One step at a time.
