People hate him? Then they're mad because he's amazing. He actually reminds me of Stefan and Elijah, always putting himself second just for his brother. I honestly wish he was as selfish as Damon and done everything to get Hope but unfortunately he was as selfless as Stefan and Elijah and stepped aside. At list Raf does something, what does Landon do asides from being the dame in distress?

People hate him because he was getting in between Posie even though Josie and Penelope broke up . Also because him and Lizzie had sex and told her he wasn't ready for a relationship. That pissed people off. Julie plec should have stick him to one girl and let this man have a love life.

He could have had a cute thing with Josie or he could have decided that dating Lizzie wouldn't have been a bad idea but the writers didn't they chose to make him a supporting character which kinda makes sense because of the whole Malivor situation.

@@sirelashe I agree with you that Raf wasn't the bad guy but some fans believe he should have done better. They think he didn't handle the twins crush on him the best way. Also, the fact that he didn't pick either twin didn't help the matter. I still believe the writer should have just let him be with one girl. He was also still dealing with his ex girlfriend 's death.

It's so sad, Rafael is basically Legacies' version of Matt. They're both good boys who aren't afraid to call out the dangers of the supernatural world, I mean, Rafael telling Landon to leave the school was something I could also have expected from Matt. Matt, despite his mistakes, was still by far one of the least toxic characters around, and I always thought he deserved better, including how he was treated by the fandom. I can only hope the fandom and writers treat Rafael better then they treated Matt.

The fandom doesn't exactly treat him the best because they said he is boring but I'm hoping with is finding out his heritage as a werewolf that people will stop saying that. I hope they don't do what they did to Tyler Lockwood to Raf because they love making the wolves suffer. Raf is the most loyal out of all of the characters. You are definitely right Matt was definitely one of the least toxic person on the show. I hope Raf stays the same.

Raf always struck me as odd because he was always able glow his eyes and exhibit more strength than werewolves from TVD and TO put together without the ring. He even look like he could turn without the full moon at times when he got angry.

I think of him as a TRUE alpha. Similar to Jacob in Twilight being stronger, faster, bigger than other wolves before he ever took his place as alpha. I really HOPE that in future somehow in later season we see him grow confident as a true alpha. An he able stay himself, but also start taking carr himself not just his family/pack. Maybe gets happy ending with Hope. Maybe not. But i just want him have a happy ending.

This is my exposition on reddit about how basically the story or plot should have continued with the setups and themes that were presented in the first 7 episode. Anyway, Landon would be the representation of that prize possession that the hero fears losing in all stories, in this case Hope. Hope's "death" and the changing of the world and her losing that possession in her hero's journey from her sacrifice. We saw the first part of that journey unfold in season 1. We saw up until the last episode, that Hero's journey continue on in what should have been a maturity of growth that was represented in Episode 5. We saw this with her accepting the changes in the world that took place, her willingness to let go of the one she loved to have sex with another, and her accepting the possibility of another man, and even seeing her moving on in away with another character. This I felt was the theme and message they were going to go with, this move from the immature love of a crush, to the more mature love that was actually being represented with Josie and Landon as the example for Hope on her hero's journey to strive towards. Afterall. we even had messages of this theme from Josie and Landon, maybe we should stop worrying about dying and start living. That Hope in her Hero's journey in coming back from death, was going to be about her to starting to live again instead of worrying about what she had lost after her "death." This seemed like the direction that they were taking and should have taken, but whatever plot setup and theme setup that I felt was clearly being shown to the audience and can easily reference back to even has been blown to kingdom come. We have a pointless plot and story element now of Hope jumping into Malivore. We lose the Hero's journey of Hope in adjusting and overcoming the changes to the world and the loss of her prized possession due to her own sacrifice, while growing as a character in the aspect of learning something about the world and herself in that process. We see them do this blowing up the plot, the theme, the character development, character growth, with them having the world adjusting and changing back to Hope's character instead of keeping the changes in place in the last episode. Keeping the changes would have forced Hope to deal with the rules of the world, that people move on in real life after some one dies and fall in love again, what doesn't happen in real life is people coming back from the dead. One of the rules you will hear other fantasy or sci fi authors talk about is that in order to keep things real for the audience, to counter act the unreal of magic, that you retain certain realistic rules for the world itself or else this breaks the immersion. We know in the real world people can't come back to life, so if you are going to include that element in story, than to you have to counteract the unreal with a realistic rule, the fact that people move on with their lives after some one dies and the world changes. This would have kept realism in the show as well as kept Hope's character realistic in having to deal with situations real people deal even if they don't die, people move onto other relationships after a break up even. This I felt was even represented with Hope literally breaking Landon's neck, and why realistically his character should have remained angry at Hope and also chosen Josie. This would have reinforced all previous themes and plot points that had been setup in the first 7 episodes as well. It would have forced Hope to continue in her Hero's journey in overcoming the obstacles of losing her love due to her own sacrifice and even finding a more mature love with another character as was hinted at with Raf. This even keeps Landon's character true to what he said in Season one as well. "Growing up in the foster system every time I got sent someplace new, I'd hope this would be the right place... Just somewhere I actually belonged. But it never was. You know, and you can only hold out hope for so long and be HURT by so many people before it seems impossible to TRUST someone new" Landon Kirby "Well evolved being communicate they just don't storm off when things get complicated" "No Hope, instead you break peoples neck to make sure they can't communicate with you at all." At least it would have been more realistic and would have known why Landon was angry at Hope, it all evaporated like a fart in the wind.
