the problem with that is, u won't wanna use optical flow on the whole clip since it is gonna be applied to them all. instead what u will want it is just to apply the optical flow to the slowed down part. which either u wont use speed ramp or ure gonna do it manually with a cut and then apply optical flow to the slowed down part. otherwise, if u do it as in the video, u will see ghosting everywhere.

The last part about hold - you could always speed ramp down to 1% and use optical flow to get a smoother hold. Not that the result will be buttery smooth every time, but you can hope for the best 🤷🏻♂ Thanks for the tutorial, those shortcuts helps a lot! Do you know how to undo/delete a point when doing blade speed? Sometimes after finishing a speed ramp I accidentally add an extra blade speed point and don't know how to remove it again - then I'd have to reset the speed and do it again.

I feel bad for all the people who are new watching these videos and go out recording the content in 24 pfs only to find out when they speed ramp it looks like crap bc nobody ever mentions this in speed ramping how to vids….

As editors we don’t always have a choice how the footage is shot. And have to make a judgement call if it works or not. Thanks for watching and the comment!

@@RafaelLudwig I get it, but when I was new I watched one of these how to videos and when I got home I was so upset bc I recorded everything in 30FPS and I wasn’t able to do any slow motion. I was just shocked to see all the how to speed ramp videos on KZbin and only one or two mentioned in the beginning frame rates. I learned the hard way I suppose. Live and learn. But as far as speed ramping goes, good vid
