Eddie was interviewed in Amsterdam, and stated, he wrote 'Yellow Ledbetter' when he was plastered. So he said the words change with each performance, since he dosen't actually remember the original lyrics. It all depends upon his mood. So according to Eddie, there's no actual "lyrics" to the song, either right or wrong. It's improvised for each performance. I've seen PJ in concert 14 times and each time, the lyrics are switched up. But, regardless of what comes out of Eddie's mouth, the song is absolutely amazing.

I'm orginally from WA (Western Australia). I was forunate enough to see PJ when they toured across OZ, on they're Oceanic Tour. I saw them in Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, as well as Auckland, New Zealand. I've also seen them at several shows in Europe. Eddie is actually going to be touring Australia, performing solo, starting on February 7th, in Perth, already got my tickets :) for the Riverside Theatre.

There is something very emotional about how a Pearl Jam concert ends. The coda with McCready playing by himself ebbing from intense to finally petering out to the final chord drags everyone to the conclusion of what is almost always a perfectly memorable night watching arguably the best live band of the last 30 years.

This song is very interestingly unique for me, as there are almost no songs I have ever heard that get me physically choked up like this one does, by leading me always to stop and think of family that has passed, children that have grown so fast, and friends that have come and gone in various ways. It's both a happy and a sad, solemn..... But meaningful song in so many ways for me personally. It's a trip honestly! Haha. Thank you P. J. For opening up a usually unemotional side of me, that never usually shows through..... The vulnerability in us ALL!!

I was 12 when these band members came together. The first time I heard their music, I was blown away. I hope to someday see them play in real life. Their music rocks!!! It keeps young at heart and my kids love it. Rock on gentlemen!!!!!
