Although Rifaqat Ali Khan bears close resemblance to the Ga'iks of Sham Chaurasi Gharana, his 'Gaiki' seems to differ in many ways in being influenced by lesser Ga'iks of that time, not the 'Sham Cahuurasi' Gharana ... I say so ... Because Classical Music was one of my 'extra curricular' interests during college and Univeitsy days ... That I would often 'discuss' the nuances of Classical Music with it's Masters ... including the composer of this Ghazal, Ustad Zakir Ali Khan, he were my Class-fellow at the Govt. Emerson College, Multan, during 1959-60 period ...
