Asalamu Aleykum brother. It is haraam to swear by anything other than Allaah, whether that be one’s father or leader, or on one’s honour or status, etc, because it is proven that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever swears an oath then let him swear by Allaah or else keep silent.” Agreed upon. And he said: “Whoever swears an oath, let him not swear by anything other than Allaah. Narrated by al-Nasaa’i. And he said: “Whoever swears an oath by anything other than Allaah has committed shirk.”

Idk how I feel about this episode bc on the one hand, in a life where nothing matters- it’s like good and relatable. But then I worry about the part where you’re exposing your sins and speaking casually about sins (“seeing”/ dating/ talking to the opposite gender). Cuz at the end of the day it’s out there in public and one of the worst things you can do is publicise your sins so idk id just take that into consideration inshallah. May Allah guide us all to the straight path ameen xxx

WHAT NISRIN IS TRYINNNG to say is that the STANDARDS are wayyyy higher for women than men. That’s why women have to fake stuff and men don’t. Women have to be lady like, pretty, have no hair, not be gross, not be embarrasing etcetcetc whilst men can do more and get away with more. They can act like themselves at the start. We put ALOT of effort in to be perfect at the start.

Narrated AbuHurayrah: The Prophet (ﷺ) said: Do not swear by your fathers, or by your mothers, or by rivals to Allah; and swear by Allah only, and swear by Allah only when you are speaking the truth. May Allah forgive us all for sins we have committed intentionally and un - intentionally.
