The saga puts mangler in the graveyard via chapter two and it gives you the treasure token to ramp into invoke justice on turn 4! Then later turns you can just copy the dusk mangler over and over with the kikijiki

To deal with Ob I added Pithing Needle to my random esper superfriends pile. Most of the times it finds a target anyway and its fun to see like 3 Ob's on the field that can be ignored for the rest of the game ^^ Some other targets I like to tame are Hopeful Initiate, Lolth, Anvil, Wrenn and Seven..

For better results, replace the raffine with 4 copies of the prismatic bridge, and maybe throw in a few copies of a blue colored phyrexian praetor. Adding about 70 more cards would help too, helps against mill.

@@alexwenner5746 Few videos ago, CGB went against someone piloting a 200+ pile with Prismatic Bridge and Jin Gitaxis. It was insane feat of deckbuilding and it stomped the Velomachus Lorehold reanimator into the ground.

Why replace the Raffine when this deck only has 60 cards? It would be much better with 130 cards. And Raffine synrergizes really well with prismatic bridge. He can be put into play for free with the bridge AND produce mana with Esika

red and green are great for aggro decks, so adding 60 red and green cards might help alot. And while we're adding those colors, the prismatic bridge would fit really nicely too

Monowhite with splash is still pretty great but I'm not so sure about this being the best deck. You aren't even running prismatic bridge, which is clearly needed for basically all deck types. Plus if you use it you can even hit Jin gitaxias. I see no reason at all to not include it. It does mean that you will need 70 or so extra cards though, as the mill match up is rather difficult.

The opponent didn't need to pay the 1 at 17:59. Void Rend can't be countered and ward works by countering. Anyone remember the Strixhaven reminder text? "This spell can't be countered. (This includes by the ward ability.)" 37:20 Oof.

It has my fun happy mid range boros combo deck has been getting trashed by raffine tempo decks and the new blue protection counter tempo decks I'd honestly prefer to go against ob nixulous I can win sometimes and is more fun than losing to tempo decks that u can't interact with. I switched to mono white to farm my dailies sad day.

In theory it is broken but you are forgetting the fact that you HAVE TO draw and you HAVE TO discard after you draw. You cant say shit like "OK I am happy with my board I dont want to upgrade anymore". It burns through your deck pretty quick and all of the value gained from it turns into dust after you eat a doomskar to the face. It is pretty strong though when it works intended.

If it bugs you a lot, try running a tergrid, god of fright mono-black pile against it. You can ramp into it on turn three with ghast and dispute, plus you have a ton of removal. It's a very amusing matchup.

I feel like because of conniving you should run fewer lands but to hit those drops maybe 4x DSC like agadeens or Seagate. Even glass pool. Hard to tell what the right balance would be but those land drops would hit as +1 counters when conniving

Interceptor seems good mostly against board wipe effects to keep the tempo, otherwise apparition seems better with brutal to maintain board pressure. It's a thin line beetween both, depends on meta I guess. Raffine's amazing though!

Just what the meta needed, a stronger version of monowhite. Really hoping the next ban list hits some of these cards making every match feel the exact same. Can't wait for you to show us the strongest version of izzet (maybe with splash, unexpected windfall doesn't demand double red anymore for some reason) control goldspan dragon next video lol. I've also never understood the argument that monowhite is good for budget players. Sure, the deck is good every single meta no matter what they print (which I do not think is a good thing), but I swear every single card is a rare. That's a steep barrier of entry for new budget players. Still, great video, cool to see three color looking competitive- the mythic looks broken if you can go just a little wide. That angel deck looked sweet too (game one was a hell of a ride, that's what you want from aggro mirrors)- I hadn't tried building anything, but after smashing two people playing Broker's Ascendancy in limited with the angel lord followed by only two angels I realized if there are only a couple decent 3 mana angels available in standard (and based on a quick scan of the craftables there are), angels might be a good deck. My only concern is it will be draw one of the four of or die trying.

Mono white is dope for playing on your phone and going 5 and 1 in 20 mins but it's still wrong. Playing really interactive decks on your phone can be challenging.

@@christophwhiteyz9787 I mean, I get that. Clicking through stuff on mobile is legitamitely harder and leads to more mistakes. I don't tend to judge people who play these decks- I don't like the game design that enabled them, but winning is usually enough of a motivation to get people to play them. Hell, the deck itself is less of an issue than the fact it has stayed across multiple standard metas with the same exact cards (bar a few tech cards). Plus aggro mirrors of any kind can be really interesting- I know the decisions you do have to make in aggro take some skill because I myself am infamously bad at aggro. That being said, appealing to mobile players shouldn't be a major component imo for anything balance wise, except possibly alchemy and/or adding ridicously complicated mechanics, but they shy away from those for paper's sake anyway. The mobile extension was pretty much a bonus tacked on top of another bonus- magic was a paper card game first with a digital port to support its popularity, with the mobile version an added feature for people who loved it and wanted to play on the road. We shouldn't bend over backwards to ease the experience for mobile players- it's not a mobile game, and in paper or best of three matches on the computer are really impacted by the fact mobile appealing archetypes are pushed (if they justify it with the mobile argument, which, to be honest, I do doubt. I guess mobile games are super profitable though, so I could definitely be wrong).

I think the reason you saw so many Esper decks in this video is because you were in the "Play" lobby. The matchmaker likes to pair similar decks in this lobby. That's why you only played Ob Nixilis decks before with your other decks.

Is Ob actually good? I've found that any time I've tried to run it in a deck, it's ok against control but way too slow for mono white and all the other agro decks flooding the format.

You're highlighting exactly why, as much as people want to label Mob Nixilis the next Oko, he is not. Oko had a plus matchup against every archetype including aggro, but Nixilis definitely struggles against it in my early play testing. That's good, though. He would probably completely run standard if he wasn't checked by aggro.

On top of the the fact that you have to sacrifice creatures in order to maximize his value, he works best when you have threats on the field and the opponent becomes forced to discard cards, fearing your board.

Honestly even control can do pretty good against Ob if it is the upper end of control. Like izzet control chews up Ob for breakfast right now. So does one or two other control decks. Aggro does pretty well against it. Ob is strong but I feel like people are trying to push it to be the next oko even when it doesn't make much sense.
