From early 50s Rafi Sahab era started with Beju Bewra film.. O duniya ke rakhwale... this was suppose to sing by Talat but Naushad preferred Rafi Sahab over Talat due to Rafi Sbs soft behavior and dedication to the singing.. At this same time SJ duo started their career with Rafi Sb and Mukesh mainly. By mid 50s Rafi sb became No.1 singer and choice of every hero and music director and Talat Mahmood left behind. Also Rafi Sb did realize he will have to bring something new to the playback singing. He acquired the expertise of modulating his voice to suit different actors to match their style so that he will sound bit different in every song specially for every heroes style.. Also Rafi had clarity and high pitch which was needed by MD to make their tunes super hit. Rafi Sb had another quality.. He always remain humble and worked for every MD regardless of money.. But most importantly he was exceptional God gifted in terms of voice quality and by nature which made him all-time greatest singer of Indian music..

Narrator has forgotten or may be doesn't know that Talat Mahmood 's last recorded song was not jahanara(1964) but Aadmi (1968). Though this song was not included in the movie one the insistence of Hero Manoj Kumar. Mahendra Kapoor sung version was included in the movie.

According to Manna Dey saheb ( interview available on youtube ), Talat's songs becane such a craze due to the difference in his voice , with the vibration. However Manna Saheb said that with the new technology that came, Talat could not adjust his voice and his voice didnt sound the same. Hence demand for him diminished.

Seems to be a biased fan of Talat. Rafi had equal amount of success in 50s. While Talat's songs were of one mood, Rafi had all the variety. Also, 60s belonged to Rafi, quality n quantity wise also.
