Rafidah backs Guan Eng on transparency, says real investors will stay

Last week, when Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng confirmed that the country’s debt level exceeded RM1 trillion, many were concerned about the effect of such an announcement on the stock market.
These concerns appeared to be validated when the Bursa Malaysia subsequently dived, leading to more calls for Lim to tone down on his incendiary remarks about the economy.
Former international trade and industry minister and trained economist Rafidah Aziz, however, is unperturbed by such concerns.
Known for incendiary comments herself, she said she fully supported Lim’s move to be transparent about the country’s financial standing.

Rafidah is right. We should focus more towards FDI rather than the stock market. Its okay should stock market down now. It just temporary. Later they will realise that everything now in place. Great speech Tan Sri. Real investors will be very happy to know the truth. The stock market is just a casino for quite a lot of short term thinking investors. As long as the country is governed by straight forward, no nonsense, non corrupt politicians who stick diligently to their parties's core belief of helping the ordinary people rather than busy filling their mouths with gold, Malaysia will emerge shortly a much much weaithier country. It would be very good to see Malaysia in the top 10 least corrupt country in the world very soon- at the moment there is only 1 Asian country in the top 10 spot, the rest are countries where people are predominantly white.

Finanace Minister is just being fortcoming and honest about Malaysia's debt situation, nothing wrong with a truthful statement coming from any cabinet minister regarding our nation's finances actual scenario, then only we can tackle the issue head on without delay; investors and the public prefer an honest statement than a lie or misleading one than analyst most of the time; even though it may not made every one happy and the market rally .
