This is why Lea stands out...she is able to sing different genres of music as well as in different languages...when I say different languages, I mean of the song is Filipino, the tone and diction of the song is very Filipino...For those who may have disliked the video may only know Lea as a Broadway star who just knows songs from musicals...yes, musicals have a certain tone in them if you try to hear them closely...But to be able to sing an OPM song with Filipino lyrics as crisp as singing a foreign song is really what we call TALENT... Was this from Lea's performance in KALEIDOSCOPE at Town Hall NYC in March 2015? I watched a video of Lea rehearsing this song for that concert and played it simultaneously with this video. It's so interesting that it wasn't exactly the same - some of the pacing of the song is slightly different! And there was a moment that Lea goes for a high note here that she didn't do in the rehearsal. So often you can play Lea rehearsal and performance (or two performances of Lea) simultaneously and they are almost exactly the same. It's cool when they are the same - it shows how much Lea really practices her music. And it's also cool when they aren't the same - knowing it isn't all autopilot for Lea. She is singing in the moment. Note: the rehearsal and this performance both sound fantastic!
