Roughly 70 species of sea snakes inhabit the Indo-Pacific but are absent from the Atlantic Ocean. Paleoclimatic conditions in the Coral Triangle were favorable for evolutionary transitions to the sea, while those in the Caribbean region and coastlines bordering the Atlantic Ocean were less favorable. The dispersal of sea snakes from the Indian to Atlantic Oceans around the Cape of Good Hope has been prevented by low water temperatures and a lack of precipitation related to the presence of the Benguela Current along the Atlantic coast of southern Africa. The Isthmus of Panama fully separated the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans before the speciation and dispersal of the sole pelagic species of sea snake to reach the Central American Pacific shoreline. Future climatic changes could bring declines or extinctions of sea snakes within their present ranges, but they appear unlikely to favor the dispersal and establishment of sea snakes in the Atlantic Ocean.

Orcas are one the most misunderstood marine animals. Captivity causes stress, but, in some cases, these fatal incidents with trainers are accidents. The term "killer" should really be applied to humans. Orcas have to eat too.
@jaysilverheals44452 жыл бұрын
killer whales is a misnomer and comes from the fact they were "whale killers" that were seen killing and eating various whales. later they simply called it "killer whales"

People being faster than alligators on land is often wrong. Alligators and crocodiles can sometimes run up to 35 mph on land. You aren't outrunning that on foot.
@trevormiles58522 жыл бұрын
You have to run and do zig zags at same time. And then do shoulder roll and a few ballet jumps, while screaming like a little girl. you many not survive but we here at KZbin would get a laugh. And mourn you accordingly with respect of course, we are not animals.

Really? Then meet my sister she can run 59 laps around a whole mall in 0.0 Seconds she 100% can Outrun it she can run up to 99 mph we say its because she has strong legs but we went to a science lab with some of the smartest Scientists she wanted to be like a cheeta but 999 million times Faster and stronger! @amandastakeonit74022 жыл бұрын
Only alligators get up to 35 though. The others top out at 22mph at the highest. Most don't hit that. That being said, the slowest one of them will still catch me and in water there's no hope for a human!

Pretty good. The seal at 17:23 whilst talking about Leopard seals, is not that. It is clearly different from the other bits of film of Leopard Seals. At 20:02, that the crocodile is taking a Wildebeest, shows it to be in Africa, so not the same as the Australian Saltwater Crocodile. But I suppose it is similar enough in its habits. At 20:10 that short bit is a very different Freshwater Crocodile (as shown by the long slender snout).
