We get hypnotised when a foreigner borrows our language, culture etc. without any importance to the quality displayed. Kudos to this lady for an honest effort. I might not even say Rafta word properly let alone sing the whole song. But an event of this stature cannot compromise on the legacy of songs such as this. As a native Urdu speaker, I appreciate your amazing attempt. I'll only add one thing. In my humble opinion, your 'aaj jaane ke zidd na karo' performance was much more superior to this one. Us mein aap ka tallafuz behtereen tha. Mujhey sun ke laga hi nahin ke kisi aise insaan ne gaaya hai jis ki maadri zubaan Urdu nahin. Is ghazal mein kuch ilfaaz ki adaayegi se patah chal raha tha. Jaise lafz 'ra'anaayian' aur 'ho gaye' mein original ghazal jaisi adaayegi aur sur pe woh giraft nahin hai. Lekin bohat achi koshish hai jis ki mein tareef karoon gi.

Anurak Chhettry Ye feast Pakistan main nahi. Major Dhyanchand stadium New Delhi India 🇮🇳 main hota hai. Urdu ki originating land bhi India 🇮🇳 hai. Urdu reaches Pakistan only after 1947. Punjabi and pushto are main languages in Pakistan.

Rabiyan Ahmed Khan Mehdi hasan was born Indian, Rajasthan Born, Rajasthan CM sent fund for his medical expenses in his last time, also he missed India so much during his late career, Urdu was Language of Qila E Mualla that came into existence after Mughals and it was Hindustan where it originated and specifically in Delhi and northern India only. Apparently we have more urdu speakers in India (not much sure though). Give respect, take respect.

She does not have an Urdu Accent. She might be close to Hindi but has no connection to Urdu accent.Urdu is the national language of Pakistan, I don't see the purpose of Pakistani writers going to India for Rekhta. Javid akhtar would be the only audience if Pakistanis stopped attending Rekhta in India. Its not an indian language, its one of their minor languages. Urdu was originated in the Indian subcontinent as a master stroke of Muslim Politics and religion and now it stays here in Pakistan as the mother language of millions and national language of all. So just keep it to your crappy bollywood songs and don't try to represent it.
