We crossed from Mexico to Guatemala through the Suchiate River, the natural border that stretches between the two countries and empties into the Pacific Ocean.
We did it on rafts made of wood and tractor tires. A practice that has developed for decades, even before the delimitation of our borders.
We left Tapachula towards Ciudad Hidalgo, the southernmost gate of Mexico, on the way we marveled at the wealth of this entire area called the Soconusco, a great producer of banana and mango.
