@Lit-u-81 You know RATM is radical left, right? They talk about police brutality on minorities, fascists, Hoover (the body remover), who went after suspected communists and socialists, they talk about civil rights, like how they murdered X (Malcolm X) and tried to blame it on Islam. They talk about authoritarian capitalism, systemic racism, and inequality. The real irony is that you wrote this comment, but never looked up RATM or read their lyrics.

Maynard James Keenan KILLED this!! upd: I just saw comment like this in another video with this song, and i liked this, but meaning of this word "killed" for me was like "outstanding, awesome and etc". I didn't know it's hate comment, lol.

At my high school there was a talent show back in '96 (i think) and 4 of my classmates played this. I wish I had it on video. I hadn't heard RATM at the time and it blew most kids brains. At least one of them is still in a local touring band. They took out the minimal swearing, but the message came through loud & clear.

@@jakecarlin9402 cool. In 1982, at the annual talent show, me and some buds performed Sympathy for the Devil w/ Cocaine as an encore complete with smashed guitars. Everyone went wild and the faculty were in shock. Greatness. We won. However, photos of us were conveniently left out of the yearbook. Lmao

I like how RATM don‘t do rhythm guitar overdubs, under the solos. It gives the Bass room, and it‘s much easier to replicate live.

I have seen this video several times in my life. Today KZbin showed me a warning sign saying this content might induce self-harm or suicide so I must confirmed access. As a guy who is quite familiar with the punk scene, I know there are some songs quite hard to swallow. But this is not your average indie screamo band talking about cutting your veins (I love them too, by the way) - this is a song about not letting you get bullshited by those who claim to love you an protect you but truly are wolfs in sheep deguise. So... yes... you gotta know your enemies just right
