Ever on defense. They told us to go on the offensive decades ago. We didn't listen, so here we are again. I pine for the day that RATM is irrelevant; when we look back and say: "what a world that must've been..." instead of: "wow, this is so right now."

@Lit-u-81 You know RATM is radical left, right? They talk about police brutality on minorities, fascists, Hoover (the body remover), who went after suspected communists and socialists, they talk about civil rights, like how they murdered X (Malcolm X) and tried to blame it on Islam. They talk about authoritarian capitalism, systemic racism, and inequality. The real irony is that you wrote this comment, but never looked up RATM or read their lyrics.

There is some truth to that. Most liberal/democratic run cities and states you can't go outside without their governments approval.... But not all of America is like that. I live in FL BTW and I'm horrified at the "camps" and "detainment centers" being built in AUS first. Now in NY.

This is my favorite song by Rage, I've heard it a million times. Always told myself, "Damn, De La Rocha sounds like Maynard with that scream." (Your time has come to pay). I listened to this just now for the first time with a noice noise cancelling headset, a safety meeting with Mary Jane, and I realized that's actually Maynard Keenan James on the track. Mind Blown. At my high school there was a talent show back in '96 (i think) and 4 of my classmates played this. I wish I had it on video. I hadn't heard RATM at the time and it blew most kids brains. At least one of them is still in a local touring band. They took out the minimal swearing, but the message came through loud & clear.

I have seen this video several times in my life. Today KZbin showed me a warning sign saying this content might induce self-harm or suicide so I must confirmed access. As a guy who is quite familiar with the punk scene, I know there are some songs quite hard to swallow. But this is not your average indie screamo band talking about cutting your veins (I love them too, by the way) - this is a song about not letting you get bullshited by those who claim to love you an protect you but truly are wolfs in sheep deguise. So... yes... you gotta know your enemies just right
