First time I experienced seamless mixing was fab and groove at rage in 88/89… wouldn’t be a dj now if it wasn’t for them… can’t give enough respect to rage and all the djs

During this time (90-93), I was coming up as a DJ in a small city called Daly City (next to San Francisco) alongside other up and comers Q-Bert, Apollo and Mix Master Mike. Crazy how legeneds were being made during this time. Respect!

Rage was not just a club that anyone could walk into, I forgot that you had to sign up to get your pass. It was a bit click, as the door staff were very selective and they would look out for how you dressed and what your attitude was like, I got to know about the club from an older friend who invited me to come along and they got me in the club. I would sometimes go on Wednesday with different friends and I knew it as Heaven, but different music was played and it had a different vibe. But on Thursday’s night it was called Rage, and it was like a temple for ravers, completely different place. There was no club in the U.K. that could match the energy it had. And it rocked every time I went. The sound system was first class, it would be loud early on, and as soon as the place filled up they would have all of the base bin’s playing, full Turbo system. When the night was over, no body would leave the dance floor even with the lights on, until Fabio & Groove Rider played 2 more tracks.

@@gx2music I didn’t have to go to that length whether it was Babylon or Rage, but yes you couldn’t just walk in of the streets you would have to be brought there by a regular, especially with people like Philipe Salon on the door…!
