Joke's aside, the grind to make your ultimate Prowlers (especially multiple's for each category; fighter, defender, medic etc) can be very time consuming but hey!, that's why the Deadeye exists for... :P

@@madlad1912 It's the best Deviant to level grind your Prowlers with; since it's health pool isn't as high as other deviants and it's openings are very easy to exploit as a Prowler.

Prowlers should be wary of fighting Agnaktor or Duramboros without having Tremor Res. equipped. Other than that, just level grind (Cotton can reach Lv.75; Rage, Lv.99) and ... y'know, "get gud".

You don't do deadeye garuga in Gu, they nerfed the palico stun values, so you're better of with training your palico with a training codex or compendium

Yup. Acquire a billion kelbi horns from the shop. Do the quest that requires kelbi horn delivery about a billion times and you're leveled in about an hour. An hour of misery and boredom but doing it naturally takes just about forever.

Imagine a playable Hunter who uses his Greatsword for smash attacks/specials and everything that has to be done fast is done by a prowler that just sits on your back all the time. For example, the cat is your jab and when someone is caught in it, the Hunter prepares to finish the combo with a charged slash.

Apparently Josh needs to brush up on some of the tweaks to cats in MHGU: - Lunging attack (A,X) now does mounting damage - Hold R to aim boomerangs vertically before throwing - USE YOUR CAT'S CORE MOVE (Furr-ious, etc.) - Charisma and Fighting type cats get *Aerial dodge* (@10:48, with core move active) - Healing cats play a bonus Herb Horn after every healing horn (@11:58) - Assist and Gathering cats get a third boomerang before the finisher - Protect cats get *Adept guard* - Bombing cats get *Adept dodge* (which also drops a mini bomb)

Prowlers... My strongest weapon, which I used to slay Ahtal-Ka. I used my Charisma Cat called Raiga.

I also used my Charisma cat against Ahtal-Ka. That aerial dodge can save you from a lot of huge attacks.

@@Stratelier Hell yeah. Combine the aerial dodge with the evasion + skill, and you're gonna have a great time. My Charisma is named after the main character from Monster Hunter Flash Hunter. He's my strongest and most balanced cat. He has soothing roll, the emergency buddling, the healyne jug, the felyne sprint, the tunnelbuddler (great for after the emergency buddling) and the pitfall trap. I don't know the exact english names for the moves, I play the German version. I cleared this quest solo with my Charisma Prowler.

I appreciate that Cotton is not just a rotten boomerang coward like most cat people. If you have time to throw little boomerangs then FIGHT! Being a diminuitive bipedal cat is no reason to not use a greatsword! In fact since there is no reason not to use a greatsword...if you look at it a certain kinda way... then conversely every reason is a reason to use greatsword. Being a small bipedal felinoid is like 3 reasons minimum! Do the cat math!

Yeah, Josh is still playing prowler like non-Ultimate MH Generations. Fighting-type cats can do Aerial style dodges, and automatically perform the Furris Wheel melee finisher when you bounce off the monster. Charisma-type cats also get Aerial dodges (only with Palico Rally active) but with a standard aerial attack.

A lot of people claim Prowlers got hard nerfs between Gen and Gen U, but my Prowler can't hear it over the sound of all those nice Ahtal-Ka materials in the quest rewards.... Yes. We soloed Ahtal-Ka as Prowler (plus two heal cats because teammates). - Lv.75 Charisma cat - Glavenus X weapon, Kirin X armor (total defense ~500) - (apparently Ahtal-Ka is immune to fire, whoops. Next time, Kirin X weapon) - Able to keep Palico Rally active most of the hunt (catwide attack+defense buffs, aerial dodging) - Soothing Roll and Mega Boomerang in moveset - Earplugs and Non-Stick Fur skills equipped - Ate for Wyvernburger (attack+defense) and Felyne Foodie - Quest complete in

Fighting type cats don't get the third boomerang. BUT THEY GET AERIAL DODGE WHICH AUTOCOMBOS INTO FURRIS WHEEL MELEE FINISHER. Plus, hold R to aim boomerangs vertically. Playing cats like pre-Ultimate MH Generations misses out on so much.
