I was doing a Vigor-only run, and one of my main weapons was a Misericorde with Flame of Redmanes. Any boss with 80 poise or less goes down in 2 casts (on NG at least) and if you mix this with the Cerulean Assassin's Dagger Talisman, you can recover all the FP it cost to use it twice. Then, on top of all that, if the boss has a slow enough moveset, you can get 2 casts in before they even recover from the crit. What does this mean? It means you can stunlock Maliketh from full HP to 0 VERY easily. People constantly talk about how Rivers of Blood is OP but don't realise actual stunlock abilities exist

I have 2 things for share. 1:Clayman's Harpoon(its a lance) has raw and magic dmg but you can add more elements with ashes of war or grease to do 3 dmg types or even 4 a the same time (using the next discovery). 2:If you use the ash of war "sacred blade" with thunder afinity on your weapon, you will be able to add holy dmg while using the ash of war, in other words you will do 3 dmg types at the same time (Physical,thunder,holy).

The easymode way to do Flame of the Redmanes is on a leveled up Misericord. When you get Royal Knight's Resolve, you can move that to the Misericord and put FotR on some other weapon.

You can stack the damage effect from the 'rune of death' weapons/incants. If you can land the blade of death/maliketh blade weapon art and follow with the incant it will immediately take 1/3 of their health. Good for tanky bosses like fire giant and elden beast.

For the walking mausoleum using the gravitas skill is an easy way to clear out the debris on their legs. I wonder if either Margit or Mohgs shackle would work as well(they work on hidden walls and fire pillars as a hit box, maybe they can on the debris too). Also gravitas is a great way to deal with the stormhawks and bats. It pulls them out of the air and allows you to finish them on the ground.

The skeleton breath attack took me by surprise the first time I saw it. And it HURTS, too. There wasn't much I didn't already know about this video. I'd heard of the rings/shield interaction, but I didn't know that it had been nerfed previously. I'm so slow getting through this game, man... Stuff is getting nerfed that I've never had an opportunity to even try. The Mimic Tear got nerfed before I'd even acquired it. I'm at nearly 250 hours and I'm still on my first playthrough. There's just so much to do in this game!

Another way you can deal with those invisible scarabs is to stand in its path, get on your horse, and then hold your Heavy Attack as it approaches. the entire animation is an active hitbox, not just the swing at the end of the charge so the scarab runs into it.

I wouldn’t say flame of the red manes is a “ranged” stagger. I’ve used it for half the game and any boss that moves is hard to get at range. You have to be pretty close to them to hit them but it does have crazy stagger.

Something I recently discovered while farming for a weapon that has saved me a ton of heart break after I figured it out. So we all know when you kill an enemy and they are going to drop an item you will see the pop or flash of the blueish white light and then will have the glowing dot of the item with a light trail rising up from it. Well just like when you find an item out in the world if it has a simple dull white glow rising up it will be a simpler item like rowa berries or glass shard, but if it has a brighter purple and white light then it is considered a special item, well it's the same for enemies, if you are farming for a weapon or armor pieces and see the tell tell flash of light wait to check what color is rising up from them before you get your hopes up, if it's dull white it'll be your 50th rowa berry but if it's bright purple to white then it should be your weapon or armor. hope it helps

Additionally, the beam's height also tells the difference between the common vs uncommon drops, which both appear as white drops. Ex: when killing a Warhawk in Stormveil, basic flight pinions will be a roughly elbow height beam while the Stormhawk feathers AND the Warhawk's Talon sword will appear as tall as the player

Another one to add here that I don’t see people talking about but quite a bit of people is the one with Mohg’s or Morgit’s shackle. You can activate it anywhere and it will reveal secret paths. Not only close ones but it has great range so you won’t have to do it all the time. In fact so many areas are so small you would only have to do it once and you’ll probably never realize it was a breakable wall. It will also move up and down the pillars that shoot fire or to damage the enemies or yourself. You can easily do this instead of having to use a dagger or some of long range weapon. Makes it way easier to use those traps to fight enemies as well. I always keep one of those in my quick menu and you can get Margot’s with the first 30 mins of the game or new character

If you have the beast repent torch equipped in hand when you get on torrent the affect still works even if there shows no light or flame. But the calming affect still works. I'm glad you brought that torch up. I had found it right around you mentioned the other torch in a previous video, and thought the beast torch was way more useful to know about. Also good to use with rats and large rats. And bears. Not runebears though

The Kindred of Rot being covered in human arms is a common element that they share with Astel Naturalborn of the Void. It's also interesting that Astel is a malformed Fallingstar Beast, and his body with the forehead-cracked skull, human arms, and wings looks much closer to the Death Rite Birds in design than the bull-like Fallingstar Beasts.

My current theory on the Kindred of Rot (The enemy, name from their ashes) is that they are former humans that were changed either by worshiping Malenia or through her scarlet rot in Caelid. They consider themselves her children or children of her rot at least. From Gowry after helping Millecent: "Would you disown us too? As your Mother did? We children of the scarlet rot?" Malenia herself seems to reject them possibly because they are born of the rot, which is implicated may be related to the domain of an outer god.

I've been using Flame of the Redmanes ever since I found it, maybe half of my gametime ago. Great poise break, you can break dragons' poise in 2 hits, just aim it to their head. Do critical hit, do it all over again in a loop. Dead dragon in no time. Honestly I think I can't play without it, I've been spoiled.

The lobster enemies have a disturbing fact. In real life lobsters shoot a stream of liquid from their mouth as a form of attack when fighting others but that stream is piss because lobsters also piss from their mouth as well. So when you get sniper from a lobster from far away you literally got hit by a piss missile.

I just finished a dagger (Melina) challenge run, I can tell you for a fact that the Flame of the Redmanes pairs extremely well with the Misericorde with the high crit damage. Single handidly turned bosses from a 15 min fight to a 3 min fight. Truly incredible AoW that does not need to be nerfed due to it only standing out in specific situations and not OP during the entire game.

Just tested out a really cool weapon often used in Madara builds (Chase the bro has a really cool fight against this): the Steel wired torch! Turns out, like the crossbow, this does also get extra firedamage and bleed properties! The fire on the ground also procs the bleed! This is amazing against groups of enemies and big targets if you have a close combat build that sometimes wants to do medium range attacks without bows. It also explodes firebarrels from a safe distance. Flame of the redmanes is better, but if you want a really easy lowcost alternative in any build that removes large groups, this is a really good option!

Quick note about the Tree Sentinel Shield Cannon. If you want an easy, almost guaranteed way to fire it off every time without having to wait on your ring to return and get the exact timing, what I do is use the spirit summoning bell. You just ring it (make sure you aren't looking down, but forward or slightly up), then you just step forward and L2 parry and you will blast it. If you target an enemy as you're blasting, it will go straight at that enemy (usually you don't want to have the enemy targeted beforehand because that can cause you to look down too much at times, missing the parry). You can do this in pretty rapid succession, not quite like the rapid fire back with the "fire's deadly sin" version, but still a pretty reliable cannon on demand (this is pretty much like how people were cheesing Carian Retaliation, but it works like a charm with the TS Shield too).

If you proc Frostbite on someone, you can use a fire attack to reset the enemies frostbite so you can keep proccing frostbite against the dragons that you can’t lock on to the legs, (Dragonlord Placidusax, Ancient Dragon Lansseax, and Lichdragon Fortissax) charging a heavy while their head is down and attacking their head will 9/10 break their posture for a max punish on a staggered enemy, throw a light attack BEFORE they are fully staggered or a heavy attack BEFORE they stagger, then light attack the corresponding area if you are unsure if a chest is trapped or not, you can actually dodge right after you open it to avoid a potential transporter trap!! when going up against a rivers of blood in PVP, open your menu, go to the bottom left, select it, all the way to the right, then hit quit game

I'll copy & paste the entry from the wiki: _"While held in either hand (or on the back while two-handing something else), certain creatures will not attack the player. The affected creatures are: Lone Wolves, Dogs, Giant Dogs (only those that do not have glowing red eyes), Boars, Sheep, Bears (not Lesser Runebears), Rats, Giant Rats, Basilisks, and Crystal Snails. If spotted by a creature, the creature will stay focused on the player (as if they are readying to attack), but will keep their distance and not attack. If the player attacks the creature or approaches too closely for too long, the creature will attack the player as normal. Putting the torch away and pulling it back out again will cause the creature to cease attacking the player once more."_

Loads of enemies have specific weak spots. The troll heads are weak, and if you shoot them there they will clutch it. Tops of the fire chariots can be plunge attacked, or the riders on the back. Many more examples.

Probably been mentioned but I wanna share a fun story. Got invaded in Liurnia by a player who was giving me a run for my money and spamming poison spells and the poison cloud ash of war. I ran to that spot near the east shore with a metric butt ton of Land Squirts where you find the summon for the bulbous plants. I threw out poison darts like crazy while we were surrounded by the LS. They started writhing and smoking out green noxious nasty. I managed to hit the invader with sleep (yay skeep bolts) and ran away. The squirts all exploded around him taking him out. It was glorious. Land Squirts react violently if poisoned.

Apply an enchantment to the weapon, and flame of the redmanes will also become buffed. The ash will stagger anything in 2 or 3 hits, and apply the bleed from bloodflame blade, the Blackflame DoT, deal double damage to undead and prevent resurrection with orders blade, etc. it's super balanced for sure.

The rot bugs one reminds me of something. If you take a close look at Mr. Ofnir's grave in the opening cutscene it's full of human ears, infact the "beard" on his helmet seems to also be made up if many tiny ears. Makes me think he's really the "All Hearing Brute" Latenna talks about, aside from the fact that it seems quite odd even for Gideon to know Latenna's specific hiding spot. To find the real eyes get enough light around you and take a close look just above it's mouth and you should see 2 very small yellow orbs with black pupils. Those are the actual eyes!

@@Metaknight180 they are still there. I don't know if the scales are slightly different in color but it helps the eyes blend in. Killed a pack of three and could only see the eyes properly on one of them due to the light.

Love these vids. Gotta say tho I haven't seen you talk about both Margot and mohgs shackles and how the have great uses in crypts and cave and such they let u activate the fire traps. Plus in the big chariot dungeon it auto kills them and gives u the full armor set

Quick tip for those invisible scarabs. Get any Glintblade Phalanx sorcery or Ash of war and they will auto home in onto the scarab for easy kill. Best to place yourself with the scarab going towards you.

And like the Sentry Torch, the Beast-Repellent Torch is still active when on your back (when two-handing you main weapon). Tested it in Caelid with the Scrappy Doo lookin' dogs and it worked. The only thing it didn't work for was the Murder Birds, strangely.

Because the murderbirds are immune to anything that would otherwise make Cealid a nice place. Pretty sure they are the secret reason malenia rotted Caelid. They could probably fly earlier

Jumping is pretty useful to dodge any ground stomping attacks like Godrick's double/triple axe stomp and Godfrey's area-wide stomps, if you time your jumps right you take no damage and can even do a jumping attack.

Another hidden cool thing you can do is have a torch (Sentry's torch) and have your sword on the right hand(Golden Epitaph) use the skill and you'll do constant damage to ghost type enemies without touching them I believe it's as long as you have the epitaph out and the skill is still active. Also note that I did this at the snowy area where you have to light up the torches before you go to the tree to miquella or something like that but yeah that area lol

It was fun cutting off the arms of the land octopi, but honestly I just use Flame of the Redmanes on my Misericord because it stuns them in one hit and sets them up for a crit.

Yes, jumping is so useful in many fights to avoid damage. The biggest one is on the Elden Beast when the rings come down from the sky. They're almost impossible, if not impossible to roll through, but you can easily jump over them. The other big one is the Crucible Knight's ground stomp attack. You can just jump when they stomp and the rocks that come out of the ground completely miss you.

Flame of redmane ash of war is soo good. Used it basically until last few bosses. Some bosses are incredibly hard to stagger but most all enemies are 2-3 hit stagger

Basilisks are annoying, but there happens to be one place in Deeproot depths where the Marrionette Soldiers will clear most of them out - and you technically can't summon them there. At the actual Deeproot Depths site of grace, head north until the summon sign just disappears. Take a step or two back south until it reappears and summon the Marionette Soldiers while facing north. Since they have a mind of their own, they will keep wandering north well past the summonable area and into the basilisk zone shooting all they come across. I just sat back and reaped the runes. Worth about 35K for literally no work. Useful trip to the fridge to top off my drink.

if you really want to kill the land octopus just hit it from the side to get your first stagger, reposte. then during its recovery do a heavy against its beak, that does insane stagger damage, and a full chagered one should allow you to reposte it again, and loop it until its dead. idk if it works with straight swords, but with most great swords or spears it works

For the invisible scarabs, I like to get on Torrent, stand on the path, and when it's coming by I start doing a charge attack with my weapon on the side he will pass on. Since it has a continuous hitbox, the scarab runs into it and kills itself.

If you get the blasphemous parry item for Maliketh - It’s fun to use in duels. I use it on occasion to weird the enemy out and make them wonder wtf I’m using, lol. Idk if it can actually parry anything other than Maliketh in his 2nd phase but it’s a fun troll item. xD

Instead of flame of the redmanes, you can use beast jaw's weapon art. Does about 1k dmg, long range, takes 2-3 hits to posture break and is just a fun weapon.

You can use rings of light twice and rebound both of them. It does tremendous damage with, shard of Alexander, and ash of war damage boosting talismans, sun hat and Golden Order seal. I worked it into a build where I use the blood flame crossbow exploit and two striking bleed weapons. One is spiked great hammer for the blood flame buff in my right hand and the left hand is the rot gladiator hammer which I put blood on. I also swap to blood flame infused spiked fist and put on Fire's Deadly Sin for the blood flame aura exploit. 2-3 bleed procs with 11 arcane lmao.

You can also use the greatblade phalanx for the invisible scarabs.. it automatically shoots them when you walk close to them while phalanx is active.
