If you use hay bales under some of the campfires the smoke won’t be the same height on all of them therefore making it look a bit more realistic
@RagePlaysGames7 ай бұрын
It didnt end up making it into the final cut of the video (probably because i rambled too much), but I actually ended up switching from moving the campfires to moving bales of hay under each campfire! It made the smoke extend further which looked better, but I didnt consider only putting it under certain ones / staggering them more. I'll have to give that a go for the more realistic look :)
@piotroklesinski62747 ай бұрын
You can change sequence in sequenced gearshift to: Move 8m > Await Move 8m < End. This way you dont need that additional gearshift. Or as someone mentioned earlier you can remove sequenced qearshift and connect everything directly to "normal" gearshift. Eighter way your solution is just unnecessarily complicated. Like, it's not wrong, but why do it the hard way, when you have multiple easier options.

If you want the smoke to go higher, you can always put hay bales underneath the campfires, just a thought, and maybe using gantry shafts to help with verticality rather than pistons that require the back to have piston pushers, but it still looks dang awesome!

The working toggeable campfires are cool but you don't really need the sequenced gearshift, making those go up with a mechanical piston that can push up to 8 blocks won't push those more than 8 blocks up
Tip for the volcano, if you want it to look more realistic then have hay bales under the centre few campfires, so the smoke is more concentrated in the centre, similar to a real volcano

I'd definitely add the freecam mod for getting aerial shots for videos, super simple mod, just press f4 to enter freecam! You can even get the modrinth version which doesn't have the cheatier features like clipping through blocks and freecam block placement, if you wanna ensure that it stays "legitimate".

In create there is a setting wich you can turn on for when there is a pit of like 1000 lava buckets it is considered infinite and you can pump out infinite lava, you should try this, I do not think this is cheating because it is a big effort to get a pit this big. Btw love your vids! :)

What if you use the lava you generate to fill the volcano with a pool of 10k source blocks? That way you can use a hose to have an infinite source in the overworld (plus will look more realistic than a cauldron farm)
@Malthinae7 ай бұрын
You never do anything half way, do you, mister Rage? The end result does look amazing, though =) Part of me is kinda screaming on the inside to just get a whole bunch more lava inside the chamber and tap it using a Hose Pulley (the 10'000 block limit _does_ also work in the Overworld, after all) but your design is really rather nice in the end, and using Create for its aesthetic possibilities is a great idea that I haven't seen much outside of DoodleChaos' builds. So I guess what I'm trying to say is, great job!

for a true "working volcano" in create, one can use those hose things that place source blocks of fluids. not really sure how to make it work though
@RagePlaysGames7 ай бұрын
You could try to use the hose pulley, but it pumps in/out from the bottom of it so it would be difficult to conceal it inside the volcano. While it will fill up any size room by pumping from it, the hose pulley itself marks the "highest point" it will fill to.

Why didn’t you make it hollow and just add some torches from another chest, 5:38 it would have saved SO much time
@RagePlaysGames7 ай бұрын
I made the outer shape using worldedit in a creative world to get the schematic and I tried making it hollow, but it messed the shape up any time I tried to do basic smoothing of the outer shell of it. Ended up just being easier to make it a mass of stone and then carve out the shape I wanted after (I also had no idea what shape I wanted inside the volcano or the design of what I wanted in there until I built it on camera).
@justablitz7 ай бұрын
for the volcano a little bit of quick math: if it took 5-6 hours to complete, with 1 block every game tick, then lets go with 5h 5*60 = 300 minutes 300*60 = 1800 seconds 1800*20 = 36000 ticks so with 5h it would be 36.000 blocks for 6h its 42.600 blocks (if i did the math in my head correct) so the volano is between 36.000 and approximately 42.000 blocks big i challenge anyone here to calculate the amount of force needed to get the schematic cannon to shoot the ~40.000 blocks
