@michikira Cartoon Network in Japan seems actually worth watching. Over here, Cartoon Network shows are full of dirty jokes and political propaganda
@jocelynecupcake3 жыл бұрын
@michikira Well, not every western cartoon is bad but I'm sure you don't have the crud that we have. We have stuff like Steven universe and teen titans go. In my opinion, those are terrible shows. I used to be able to get this channel called "Qubo" where they had the better kids cartoons, like Scaredy Squirrel and Babar and Pecola and if you never heard of those shows, you can look them up. They are very cute shows. They just got rid of Qubo channel a week ago and it was the channel left on tv that still had decent shows for kids. This new stuff they got on Nick and Disney is horrible, and I never had much good to say about cartoon network. Looney tunes and that steven universe stuff... like ew come on!? Loiterally the only appropriate kids show left on tv is SpongeBob! 0_0 I don't see Peppa pig anymore!
@jocelynecupcake3 жыл бұрын
@michikira Oh yeah? I think Steven Universe is dumb because it makes kids confused about gender and stuff even more than they already are. I know so many cartoons that most people in the US have never even heard of. A lot of the cartoons come from other countries (Canada, England, Australia,...ect) I believe Pecola is a Canadian-Japanese production and was funded in Japan. Anyway, you seem like a cool person ^u^ You got any family friendly non-violent Japanese cartoons/anime for me to watch, i'll gladly give it a try. The weekend's coming up and I got time. I'll love to recommend you a few movies and cartoons as well (I already know a Japanese movie and cartoon that I am in love with, One stormy night)

And the kids know that the dolls and toys are alive, kind of like in ‘the secret life of Benjamin Bear” where an elderly woman knows the secret that teddybears come to life after a hug of pure and innocent love. :> there could be arcs that are quite dark that teach kids to reach out and help others in different situations or about different types of boundaries and autonomy. Also about how its okay to have big and confusing feelings while learning to find ways to deal with them without being destructive. Especially if a characters gives lgbt vibes, because people feel like they need to see more of that and I understand. Everyone wants to feel represented. There are actual lgbt characters that don't get any recognition though. Sometimes there is hints in a cartoon/anime or movie that gives romantic vibes, no matter how old the character is, they'll ship them. theres something strangely soothing about Ann's animation and how she moves and interacts with the other toys. you can get the sense with how her body language and the softness of her voice that she is a very gentle and elegant doll. something that reminds me of when i was a young girl and i would cuddle and hug my own stuffed animals for comfort. and it really makes me sad that western 3d animation can't seem to have that same effect that 2D animation like this has. and it's surprising to me, since i don't always like old cartoons being so full of action and the retro design having something off about it than what i grew up with. but the way Ann introduces herself through her dance and at the end where ann snuggles into babette kindly, idk it just really calms me down and i remember all of a sudden what it was like to be a child again.

FINALLY, I’m not the only normal person here, you think the exact same as me, Ann and Babette are ONLY friends, nothing beyond that, maybe it’s me, I just never could understand the whole thing. :/ I wish more people would see the movie and these characters normally and not beyond any of this.

Can I just poimt out that, even though he doesn't really care very much for Babette, Andy would be the most supportive brother ever to Anne. Like, he'll be ultimate wingman for his sister and will just be 10/10 best ally brother.

I didn't get to watch this as a kid but it's absolutely adorable and well mafe. Things i like about this movie include; -Ann and Andy aren't a couple, which i feel like is such an old played out troupe that would be really weird in this movie because of how similar they look. -Andy has no interest in the new pretty girl, i feel like it's so easy toake the main male character try and impress and be all lovey dovey towards the new female character (she honestly doesn't even have to be new for people to do this) -Ann and Andy are close siblings. I feel like a lot of movies go for the "fight a lot and have nothing in common but care about each other at the climax" sibling relationship, but I like how Ann and Andy's relationship is consistently very close and loving even if they have small arguments, you can tell they adore each other and care deeply for one another.
