The historical Annabelle doll is an original 1970s large Raggedy Ann doll. The exact same kind and her brother, Andy sat in my baby nursery. And that's probably one of the reasons why many serious doll collectors care about preserving the innocence of these dolls and their stories. So sad how many people are now scared of dolls because of horror movies. Yes, one Raggedy Ann doll had a scary background story. They aren't all scary or evil. They are beautiful and sweet and loved by generations and that's how it should be.

They aren't annabelle! Just because someone has a Raggedy ann doesn't mean the doll is annabelle. Though the least I will say to probably ease you, all raggedy Ann's are like relatives of a family..and annabelle is a Raggedy Ann, so she is related. They are all like sisters, nieces and cousins. Despite the brands being different, they are like eras of a Raggedy ann. Like this: The volland era, the exposition era, Molly es era, Knickerbocker era, Applause era, Hasbro/playskool era, and finally, The Aurora era.
