the problem of flights and airports is not even the primary real problem of our country right now. flying privileges are available to only a very small percentage of the population. if you want to talk about real problems in transportation sector, talk about the public bus service, railways etc. no matter what problems people are facing at the airports, they're still much much better off than 97% of the total population of the country. people may crib about a 350 rupees samosa at airports, but still they end up purchasing it if they're hungry which tells something about their affordability. try selling a samosa at a train station for 300 rupees. no matter how hungry the travellers are, you wont even sell one.

if you are a frequent flyer u must understand why most of this happens 1. u take the jet bridge and go to your belt but the bags have to be unloaded from the aircraft then taken to the conveyer and the amount of baggage on planes is very high so it will take time 2. airport food is expensive because the cost of rent is very high in airports why should the company take a loss it will obviously pass it on to the consumer 3.the operational cost of an airplane is very high and the fuel cost keep on changing also they use the same pricing methods such as Rajdhani and other top trains ,dynamic pricing which is subject to supply and demand 4.the reason why cost of tickets is high from smaller airports is because there is no huge demand for air travel so there are a limited number of flights daily and that increases the cost of the flight.

I believe that the issue raised by Chaddha ji is important. My flight was from Mumbai to Delhi on 7 January this year and I had to see a delay of 2 hours in that flight. And I had to reach Delhi early. And the government will have to take steps to end the duopoly that is developing.

Air travel unlike railways is not owned by govt. The prices will remain dynamic as seen internallionally as private companies will not run the aircraft at loss like railways. this dynamic prices actually help the customers. if not then every ticket will be booked beforehand and if you need to really travel urgently you will not find tickets. the minister says he is able to find tickets for 14k for the next day. if the ticket was 3k he will not find any tickets availaible for the next day like we see in railways where price would be 2k for ac tickets. people will start crying like they do when there is a need for tatkal tickets.

The concern raised was great but the pricing of flight ticket prices actually depends on:- 1) Number of airport slots (think as number of aircraft possible to park at gates of airport within an hour. Because of less slots airlines have to pay more to get a particular slot think of it as ipl bidding for a player) 2) aviation fuel (70% contribution factor to ticket prices) government should take action on fuel prices as already our government is smart to buy oil at cheaper prices like Russia. This is not mocking but it's a great move yet we don't see discounts in oil price. 3) Airport fees ( AAI should take action) 4) Aircraft available to meet capacity ( Airlines should be smart to judge the demand ) 5) Aircraft efficiency ( Fuel efficiency is important if more fuel needed ticket price will increase. Due to new aircraft orders of upto 1000 aircraft by indigo and air India this should go down by at least 2030 based on delivery schedule) 6) Maintenance fees and availability (more number of Technical maintenance engineer should be available to avoid delay and overcharging for repairs). 7) It's great that someone finally addressed the duopoly concept especially with airlines as indigo and air India. 2015-2020 I used to fly for about 1000-1500 rupees for around 1-1.5hr duration flights now it is 5-6k. A decade ago the market was split between indigo,air india, jet airways, SpiceJet, air asia, go, truejet etc. so there was a healthy competition. Akasa air has entered the competition recently it's good to have competition. There are still a lot more issues for the prices but above are the major ones.

Btw, family wedding or similar like Ambani's jamnagar airport been handeled by Indian Air Force personnels. Similar cases seen elsewhere as per reports.
