Absolutely valid points discussed and should be considered by the government. What we are seeing today is that the rich are becoming super rich and the poor and middle class is not progressing. While Adani and Ambani are multiplying their wealth exponentially they are generating miniscule employment. Education and health are the most neglected sectors today. We don't have quality educational institutes, but still the educational inflation has risen staggeringly. There are not enough medical colleges in the country and hence not enough medical professionals.

Our emphasis should be on securing those positions-product managers, IT, software and hardware design, programming, and more. Let's prioritize skills that involve intellectual contributions, as they command higher salaries. Jobs demanding brainpower should be our focus, as opposed to roles relying on physical effort, which typically yield lower salaries. 💼🧠

Instead of only focusing on improving the quality of the top universities in India, I think quality of primary school education in India should be improved first . Collaborative learning instead of competitive learning so that the childs natural curiosity grows instead of being stifled by grades and marks.

Thanks for the simple to the point discussion, have just now ordered the book on Amazon, will share my feedback and ideas soon. I was a big supporter of Dr Rajan's Payments Bank licensing policy but really surprised by the pace at which India has adopted the fintech changes and crossed over the first leg so easily.While we have a lot more to achieve, hope sense will prevail with current policy makers to not upset the cart (they can continue to claim the ideas/success of others as their own in line with their lineage/DNA).

Raghuram Rajan is a Btech from IIT Delhi,Management from IIM ahmedabad , Phd from MIT. He was the professor of economics at University of Chicago after that he was the 7th Chief economist and head of research at IMF. In 2005 Rajan in a conference predicted the financial crisis on america and gave some solutions to prevent that the US Treasury secretary then insulted Rajan and denied his predictions but Rajan's predictions were proven right in 2008 financial crisis there was a documentary made on the crisis called Inside Job in 2010 and he was interview do see that. He was also the CEA to India and RBI governor

The count of employees in foxconn is 5 times that of Apple. The priority of India is inclusive development and for that large number of job opportunities need to be created. Hence, the focus areas should be ones that create more job opportunities. Seems our esteemed economist has ignored the same.

india could be doing muh better consider we have many unemployed engineers..for that you need to focus on skilling and highe reducations, both sectors neglected by current govt..Raghu is not asking to abandon manufacturing..he is asking to focus on CAPITAL-INTENSIVE manufacturing..PLI schemes may not help much..incentives based on production which cna also be enhanced by automation which actually results in less jobs..PLI need to be employment-linked ..it should be ELI not PLI..focus on tourism, textile, MSME etc that need human capital....expand services sector to being a hub not just for IT or BPO but also AI or machine learning or telemedicine or enginerring consulting or edutech an d so on..

Mr. Raghuram’s explanation of Apple was spot on. We are always being focusing on service sectors, whereas we have the finest brains. The thing is,fostering and pursuing the service industry is again a subset of vote bank politics.
