I want to scream at them "RAIDING IS PART OF THE GAME!". Like hypothetically let's say they fully upgrade their base to metal, cook a bunch of sulphur and whatever. What's next for them? Roam? Monuments? Fish?! Sure you could do all of that but the point of the loot and BP's is to be able to raid other players. It's encouraged! I can understand the feeling of being brand new to the game and getting rolled by someone after spending hours learning everything. It stings pretty bad but that is also an important lesson in itself. In Rust you will die, you will be outgunned, out built and outsmarted repeatedly but that's how you get better. If you're lucky you'll run into someone who will explain how they beat you but most won't. Mainly because everyone else has had to learn the hard way. Cheers to you Kickstand for at least giving them the opportunity to learn from their mistakes. "You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink"
